sr5242 Posted October 8, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2018 1. The visa I paid $60 for from cubacenter worked a-ok. I did not need to buy a visa from rccl or Cuban health insurance 2. Was in the lounge an hour early and was off ship and had money changed by 830 am 3. Bring a poncho. It rained ALL day heavy 4. Def get multiple prices on souvenirs. One vendor wanted 12 cuc for a piece but another further down took 8 5. No one blinked at the 3 bottles of rum and 2 bags of coffee I dragged back on board 6. You get what you pay for with tours I went with Havana journeys as they had good reviews and were $100 vs 130 Blexie and 160 classic cars My driver and guide spent most of their time talking to each other not me. And they used every stop as a chance to slip away for who knows what. I had to track them down after every stop 7. Def glad this was only a one day stop I think I saw everything I needed to see in 6 hours Sent from my iPhone using Forums

That could be said about other Caribbean port stops.

Rare LMaxwell Posted October 8, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 8, 2018 Did you walk the side streets where the cafes, artists, musicians are, see the square, go into the hotels meant for the Europeans with $$$$$, the marketplace, etc? The port area is a beautiful old city caked in grime and soot. Very interesting and unique place.
