I bet it got all gussied up from its more "free wheeling" early Ensenada days. It was the most ubiquitous bumper sticker seen in Southern Calif college towns 40 years ago. Slapped on unwillingly I suspect but it did the job creating a buzz about Hussongs. Yes, Hussong's Cantina, allegedly where the Margarita was invented, is still there - they even have a 2nd one in Vegas - however, the college kids, read Spring Breakers, like Papa's & Beer
KroozNut Posted October 26, 2018 #52 Share Posted October 26, 2018 Legendary place for sure. I believe my first time there was in the mid 80's. It was pretty wild back then.. 😉

John Scott slowly backed her alongside Berth 93 at the World Cruise Center around 11:55 AM. All Aboard is 5:30 this PM. She'll be tendering off Avalon, Catalina Island tomorrow, then heading for that Mexican Metropolis Ensenada, Baja California, and Hussong's Cantina, before returning to her winter home of San Diego on Sunday, 28 October 19. That excellent Lido Market salad bar is still worth a visit! She looks grand, and we can't wait for December when we board her for Mexico!
Rare rafinmd Posted October 26, 2018 #54 Share Posted October 26, 2018 That A-deck gangway looks a bit awkward. Does Eurodam have a deck 1 entry point? Roy

Just the tide in San Pedro yesterday. This was the crew gangway. If you think that's awkward, check out what we had to work with in Manta, Ecuador on Statendam a few years back 🤓

Since Hurricane Willa is gone and Tropical Storm Vicente, which followed on Willa's heels, first downgraded to a Tropical Depression on October 23, and then fizzled to a "remnant low" later in the day, you should be fine. EUDM should be on her regularly-scheduled Mexican Riviera run when you join her. Enjoy!
Tinker's mom Posted October 27, 2018 #61 Share Posted October 27, 2018 Yay!! Thanks so much. I am so excited to leave home and see San Diego and then sail on the Eurodam. I am consumed with making sure I have things set up for our house/dog sitter. I am so attached to my dogs that it is hard to leave them. lol
RetiredNow Posted October 27, 2018 #62 Share Posted October 27, 2018 As always, Copper John, you are a wealth of great information. Also...becoming a professional photographer, are you? Great shots of the mighty E. We will be joining for Hawaii and then Mexico on Nov 11. Good way to spend a Nov - Dec month's worth of time. Enjoy your time at home.
