Ok, so we just got upgraded from a BF to a BB mid/aft on Carib, and then, we received an up sell to a mini for $129pp this afternoon thru our agent. What to do?? This is all on the Royal sailing December 15, 2018 for 7 days. A little over $18 more per day.

Still deciding!!

If you are even thinking about it, call and get on the list or that price will get taken.  I would do it in a heartbeat!

I just accepted the same offer yesterday for our December 15th cruise on the Royal Princess.  $459pp to move from a club class mini to a penthouse suite.  We got such a good deal initially that even with the additional charge we’re still paying a good $900 less than if we booked the suite on our own.  It will be our first time in a suite, so we thought this was a good Christmas present to each other.

We’re on the same cruise and just took an uosell to a penthouse suite. I would take that upsell in a heartbeat, especially if you can get one of the midship minis with the larger balconies.

We got a similar offer.  It is for our 14-night Caribbean Circle cruise on the Caribbean Princess.  We went from an obstructed view to a window suite (which is considered a full suite).

When are you sailing?

Another thing to consider, if you are trying to get to Elite, is that you will get two cruise credits for sailing in a suite, as long as it is a paid upsell and not a free upgrade.  That adds to the upsell's "value" for some of us.

If you are *gasp* a solo in a full suite, do you get 4 credits?

I think it's just 3 for solo in a suite, but I could be mistaken.  I would not travel alone in a suite so I will never know, too much space for me alone.  🙂  Shadows would scare me.  lol

i just got off regal and 329 pp for 5 nite upgrade from mini to premium suite

i found the space superior and having 2 rooms was fantastic as i did not fare well during the 17 m swells and wound up on the sofa so my gf could sleep. the 2 rooms for the bathroom is also great as is the shower size. priority embark was great because i made the list to do the ships tour. the mini bar setup and 2 bottles of water are great as well

i have to say i was very glad i only paid 40% of the room value because i found CC dining very not worth it. one waiter took my drink order but didnt even look at nor ask if my gf wanted a drink. you get better service in a diner. i hate to assume why she was treated like this so i wont but it got me wondering why you would ignore a patron.  another waiter. sherwin, served my gf chicken and as he put the plate down on her table admitted he put in the wrong order but this one is "much better" and she will like it. she asked what was in it and as soon as he said nuts she stopped and said i cannot have that and he had to bring out her original order. the same waiter brought the wrong order to the table next to us so it wasnt just us that had issues.. we felt like 2nd class citizens and no idea why. maybe because of our age..who knows? hate to think race had anything to do with it but one gets a complex when they are literally ignored or dismissed. also my veal dish was barely warm enough to eat. hardly worthy of the extra CC expense. now we did the tour of the ship so i understand where the food comes from but when we got off the ship and went to waffle house for a quick bfast (gave that girl there the tip i normally would have given do the MDR server) and then a local place for dinner and got the correct food served HOT  it was refreshing indeed. i could tell my veal was good quality but the temp was such a turnoff for the CC dinner that we didnt do it again. i have yet to fill out the princess survey but this will be noted. and i'm not one to complain and get food refired because we all know what happens when you do that.

regarding sabatinis we tried that one day but found nothing remarkable on the menu and got the blt. everyones taste is different but we found nothing spectacular about this perk as i had been reading before the trip. i will say that the blt was very good and correct temp though.

we, i believe incorrectly, got a dinner i the steakhouse but i took i after confirming it was free per the letter that we got in our suite. 5 niters dont get it. maybe they did like us there. the food. service. temp etc were all outstanding.

also for the record the food for the UBD was hot and great and so was the service ( GO PEEWEE!) and made the night memorable for us. our steward arlo , peewee and tour guide alex  all got good comment cards at the end because they were all great. i wish they had the opposite of comment cards for the 2 guys in CC dining. we are simple folk. correct food served hot is our requirement and CC didnt have it

so the point here is i dont think CC is a perk at all except it is nice to cut in the line. i will say the meatloaf one night was correctly prepared but since people pay more for CC shouldnt they have the right to have their food be perfect and at least be asked for a drink? i think the answer is yes.

also forgot that when i went to the concierge lounge to turn in my disembark form as instructed by the letter in my suite, he was very snooty and dismissive because i was asking about how to do , or if you can get off earlier than waiting in the casino vs waiting in the lounge. he gave some vague answer which was not informative at all and actually they gave us orange 5 for 840 disembark which is so far from walking off that it boggled my mind. did he put the wrong thing in the computer or what? there was no one in the lounge needing assistance but i guess he just wanted to get rid of us and back to solitare. for those that told me the lounge was a joke they are pretty much right. thankfully i didnt really need him for anything and i just went to the casino to walk off.

When I called this past Thursday to accept our upsell to a suite, I was told that we would only get 1 cruise credit. When I questioned that because it is an upsell and not a free upgrade, I was told that we would receive all suite benefits except for the 2 cruise credits.  Other passengers have told me that we need to call Princess after the cruise to request the extra credit.

Well, the last upsell we took was about two years ago, and the captain's circle host gave us the extra credit while we were on board.  I believe for the first one we did have to call after we got back but they gave it to us no problem.  I'm not sure what the most recent policy is since I haven't been offered an upsell good enough to accept lately.  I assumed Princess still gives the two credits; maybe someone who has recently upsold to a suite can tell us.

Thanks for the info.  I’ll check with the captain’s circle host when we’re onboard next month.  The 2 credits was one of the key reasons why wanted an upsell to a suite.  Now we’ll only be 1 cruise away from elite status.
