midlandgas Posted November 10, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2018 Hi all we are looking at a Christmas cruise from San Francisco to Hawaii sailing about 20th December . can anyone advise what the weather is like that time of year and what sort of temperatures we can expect thank you
cruising cockroach Posted November 10, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 10, 2018 It's "winter". Seas could be rough, or not. I think you can expect moderate sea temps. There's no Gulf stream so it won't be warm. Think mid-high 10s during the day s you leave S.F. to low-mid 20s as you approach Hawaii,
Heidi13 Posted November 10, 2018 #3 Share Posted November 10, 2018 Best guess at temperature on departure would be daily highs of about 15 C, and a range of about 12 - 20 C. Lows should be around 7 or 8 C, with a range of 5 - 10 C. On departure, you might experience some seas, but 2 - 3 days out you should catch the trade winds. Temps in Hawaii should be in the 20's C. Rare MicCanberra Posted November 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted November 11, 2018 Weather should be nice around Hawaii, may be a bit cooler for the first couple and last couple days of the cruise.
Rare Keith1010 Posted November 11, 2018 #6 Share Posted November 11, 2018 Normally expect choppy weather with wind and clouds and sea swells the first day or two and the last day or two and as you are closer to Hawaii often lots more sun, less wind and warmer temperatures. With that said even year over year or day to day weather can change but what I have described is pretty much the norm. Keith
