pugmadkate Posted November 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2018 Hello! We’ve been on one cruise (Alaska with Holland America) and loved it. Considering doing a Carnival cruise over Nee Years. What is the dress like? Formal? Cocktail? Party? Thanks!
kcdancerkc Posted November 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2018 One of our favorite cruises was NYE, Google images of Carnival cruises New Years Eve! we dress to the nines on land NYE, so it was extra special to ring in the new year on the ocean you dont have to dress to the nines, the fives will do! pe4all Posted November 15, 2018 #3 Share Posted November 15, 2018 We have done a few NYE cruises on Carnival. They have a "special" dinner. It is usually designated as an "elegant night" so people tend to dress up. Lots of picture stations around. They have a great deck party with hats, horns, beads, and plenty of free champagne flowing. They have Times Square up on the screen on Lido deck, with the countdown to midnight televised. Great fun!
Rare jimbo5544 Posted November 15, 2018 #4 Share Posted November 15, 2018 Nye cryises are the top of the heap. Lots of fun and great festivities. Kind of like Time Square in the Caribbean, highly recommend it.
BallFour4 Posted November 15, 2018 #5 Share Posted November 15, 2018 It's not always a Cruise Elegant night for New Years Eve. We've been aboard the Ecstasy, Triumph, Elation, Conquest and Magic for NYE and it's a blast. They usually have a balloon drop and countdown at 11pm in the atrium and then head up on deck for the countdown to midnight. The big screen will have a countdown timer and the ships horn blasts like crazy. Like any other evening aboard a Carnival ship the attire ranges from shorts and flip-flops to those that want to dress up. The majority opt for casual dress. Mrsosci Posted November 15, 2018 #6 Share Posted November 15, 2018 NYE is one of the best cruises we have done. It is so much fun. We didn't care what the ports were. We tried to book it again this year, but ship was already sold out.
