Doesnt work that way JIMBO.

Neither you  or I really know how the 3rd party handles the Royal Ups. So NO One really knows how it works including YOU. Everyone just speculates.

Hopefully you are smart enough to know  that it is not set up to penalize frequent cruisers like you implied about ISLAND LADY.

To think that you  would believe that they will not take her bid because they want her to pay full price really makes me question your true intentions on here lately.  You have been very negative and it really has dragged on for quite a while now.  I hope that you can get back to cruising soon and feel the joy that a lot of us have been fortunate to feel since the restart.

Well, it is unlikely to work that way, Jimbo.  The algorithm is much more likely designed to maximize revenue rather than to teach people lessons.

Though island lady bid “well over minimum” perhaps others bid more.  Or perhaps relatively high bids for their current cabins pushed them ahead.

Well said.  I think RCI's strategy should be a process handled as a monetary decision not recriminating against a frequent cruisers.

Got notified this evening our Royal Up was accepted for the January 15th Symphony sailing. Oceanview balcony on deck 6 to JS on deck 11 in the hump. The minimum bid in our offer was $250pp, which is what we bid. We paid $0 for the initial cruise fare (this cruise was won), just taxes and fees. JS is currently going for over $2000pp.

I am still waiting to hear anything from my three bids for 1/9 cruise. 😞

And they were well over minimum too.

I am still waiting also. 2 are expired, one is still pending. I offered only the minimum though!

Seems like these are all being processed about 3 days prior to departure.    Fingers crossed that ours goes thru for our sailing on the 10th!    Just happy to be on the boat at this point!

Not true, we received ours about 11 days prior to sailing

This is fascinating to read! So glad I’m not the only one waiting with bated breath!!  We bid on a Star Loft Suite (Pending but can modify or cancel) and Aquatheater 2 br (Pending - can’t modify) for Jan 16 Allure. Bid a little above minimum on both so not terribly hopeful. But we figured by the time we bought drink packages and paid gratuities, it would come out about the same AND possibly get Star perks. Worth a shot, for sure!  Good luck to everyone, and happy sailing!!

Actually, from what others have said about all but one being expired, is a good sign!  I think you got this one!  🙂

Just got notice our offer was accepted on our Jan 15 Odyssey sailing.

I had a brief panic attack when I got an email that my credit card was declined. I called my credit card company and apparently I put in the wrong expiry date.  DUH!  I tried to change the credit card # via the link they sent me but it did not work and I was getting an error msg.  I hopped on the phone to Casino Royale as there is no phone number for Royal Up.  I got a fantastic agent who I think got on a IM chat with someone who got it all straightened out for us.  They sent us out a second email with the link again and this time I did not have any issues.

We were in a standard interior 12703 w/ 3 guests. I think it was a 3V.  We bid on a Spacious Oceanview because we had one in August and it was huge and the starting bid was low. We did not both bidding on any of the other options as they were all standard size cabins and we were going for an increase in sq ft.. The opening bid was $50pp. We bid $60 so a total of $120. We were assigned one of the corner ones 11110. We are all very happy and the extra space is well worth $40 each!

This was a comp casino booking that we had paid to upgrade to a 3rd passenger.

We also have a bid in for our Odyssey cruise on Jan 9.  I have not heard on that one yet but the offer is still pending and can be modified.  I just cancelled it and put in my bid again with the CORRECT expiry just in case I fat fingered that one too.

Received an email from Royal this morning at 5:30 am accepting our bid from a balcony to JR Suite.  We're sailing on Jewel of the Seas.

I think your cruise was just cancelled...I am so sorry.   😞

And you too...so sorry for you both...and everyone on the four ship cancellations just announced.  😞

I am surprised my second leg on Sunday here on Harmony has not been cancelled...but that may be coming with everything that seems to be going on. 🤕

Yep, learned when I got home from work, lol. 'Tis ok, maybe a blessing in disguise and wasn't meant to be.

Good attitude!  Hope it did not mess up your travel/vacation plans too much.

I know we are all hoping to someday get back to a more normal cruise life.  🤕

No, everything we had booked was cancelable and refunded - air (future credit), pre-paid airport parking, hotel, private shore excursions... and everything else through Royal will be refunded - taxes, fees, VOOM, Royal Up. So we're in good shape there. We don't qualify for FCC or anything since our cruise fare was $0 and that's quite alright. Next cruise we have booked is Serenade to Alaska from Vancouver at the end of May. I hope we're not always riding the tops of the waves so that all our trips come along at the wrong times - when the surges are high. Happy sailing!

I hope you make the Serenade trip.  She is one of our favorite ships.....along with her other 3 sisters 😉  And the Alaska itinerary is always one of the best!  Enjoy!!  🙂

Ok — We made a bid on two different rooms. Yesterday, one was listed as pending and I couldn’t modify/cancel, the other was listed as pending but I COULD modify/cancel. Today, the rooms have switched places!  Should I make anything out of that, or am I grasping at straws?  Is one status more likely to be accepted than the other?  Thanks!
