That, the PG supervisor, must be something unique to the Pinnacle-class then. On the other ships, there is only one PG manager who manages and supervises his/her staff in his/her restaurant. Unless of course Nieuw S, being brand new, has an extra PG manager until everyone in there has hit the deck running

Just booked the March 3 cruise on this wonderful ship, have heard so many nice comments about it I can't wait.  We were on the Westerdam in July and have heard this is even better.  Any tips for our upcoming cruise?

I've had the pleasure to cruise with Ann & Pat several times and Sherita as well.  It's not their fault that the internet isn't working. They are such wonderful people to cruise with that it is truly my pleasure to help if I can.

The Dover Sole is to die for.   I had it in the Rotterdam pop up and my sister said it was better than lobster.   I'm looking forward to that treat again next summer.

Does anyone know if the Vista Suites have footstools on the balcony?  We will bring one if no.

The only roe I'm familiar with is the one used by "Zwarte Piet" (Black Pete), the Dutch Sinterklaas assistant

Yes they do and it is delicious, particularly when pan fried. When in Holland, go to any Dutch fish restaurant and I bet you they are as good or better than on the N S. Also try the slibtongetjes (small sole, panfried) and be careful you'll eat your fingers.

Thanks for that info! I was born, raised and grew up in Holland and, to be honest with you, I have never heard of that. I was never big into "zoute haring" (salted herring) either. Of course it would help if I would look up the Dutch name....."Kuit", got it 🤓

The Dutch name for roe is "kuit". And raw herring is delicious too!

Yes it’s the roe. I had never tried it before. It was okay. Probably wouldn’t have it again. The server asked me if I wanted it or not when she was removing the bones so I said sure, I’ll give it a taste.

Footstools on the balconies. Regular verandas have two semi-adjustable lounge chairs and two footstools. One small round table. 

 

No DVD players. Instead there is a very large flatscreen tv mounted to the wall opposite the bed. It is an interactive system which has a lot of movies and tv shows as well as need and sports stations. Kind of like what they have on airplanes now.
