On our recent cruise on the Crown, the usual special line queue area had disappeared for Elite and Suite, is this fleetwide.

We were on the Royal thru October 16 & they had the Elite line

I can’t say fleet wide, but on our cruise on the Ruby in October there was still a separate “line”.

Did you ask them why no Suite/Elite line? What did they say?

It has been there on all our recent cruises, most recently disembarked Nov 25..

I didn’t, and to be honest there was hardly ever anyone there.  My guess was 1000 elites onboard

Been on a cruise with 1500 elites & there was an elite line and on every other cruise I’ve sailed.

I was on the TA cruise beginning in Barcelona on Oct 23rd.  It was there the first few days, then at some point the special line disappeared.  I did notice it and thought it was strange.  It was not an issue because it did not seem to be extremely busy.  I hope that was just random thing and not the way all ships will be going in the future.

On the CB now. In the last 7 days it’s been there every time we walked passed/stopped there but once.

Inexplicably it vanished one afternoon but reappeared by our next time by. 

Who knows why.

I have had poor service overall at the Passenger Services Desk. Too many times, I have stood there on the Elite line and watched as passengers who got on the non-Elite line are waited on.

We did a two leg trip in Europe.  The first leg there was a separate line for elite and suite.  The second leg they removed it as there were over 1100 elite with suite guests as well.  So I don’t think it is a change in policy.

The Elite line is normally helpful but on our last cruise they still did not always take us first  ... before others in the regular line.  Basically, the only reason we ever need to be there is to break down $100 US bills to smaller bills so we are quick & easy.

If the person at the elite/suite line counter position is taking a while, then all those waiting on the elite/suite line will wait longer. When that happens, the regular line can move faster as thee are usually multiple people to service the regular line and some of the requests may be abled to be handled quickly.

 

Yes, I have read some posts now and then saying that a person normally servicing the regular line will ask the next elite/suite passenger to come to his/her position, but that does not appear to be the normal procedure.

Quick and easy to break those bills down at the casino, no need for any special line there.. Of course, has to be open, so not while in port - but easy enough to do the night before or such.. Usually lots faster than Guest Services.
