Ocean Medallion Pickup

Pickels

I understand they are no longer mail the Ocean Medallions to booked cruisers.  You now have to pick them up at the port.  Does anyone know if you pick them up before you get on the ship, or do you obtain them when you check-in?  Thanks all!

We downloaded the Ocean Ready app on my Android phone last week, entered photo's of our passport and verified personal info. The app even had our ship security photo already loaded from our cruise in August.  Ordered the Medallion and just received text notice on December 13th from parent company Carnival that the Medallions have been shipped by DHL and will arrive at our house on December 17th.  Upon arrival at the port, there is supposed to be an area for those passengers who already have the Medallion and app to proceed to the check in desk and pick up their cruise card.  At the time of ordering the Medallion, there was an offer to buy accessories for the Medallion but we want to see the items for sale on the ship.

Now we just hope it all works out.

That's exactly how it worked for us last week on the CB (Terminal 4 at Port Everglades). After clearing the x-ray machine, a nice Princess lady asked us if we already had or OM or if we needed to pick them up. As we had them, she escorted us to the check-in counter where our OM devices were looked at along with our passports and where we were given our cruise cards. We barely slowed down and were headed to the boat in under 30 seconds.

And you will. The ways to spend money are almost limitless!

We were on the CB last month and picked up our OM and cruisecard in the terminal before boarding.  I had downloaded the OceanReady app and filled out the information.  Princess has plans to start mailing the OM before the cruise or you can pick them up in the terminal.  Our cruise was too soon to mail it.  The OceanReady app certainly got us through the checkin part very fast and I did not need the printed boarding document.

I completed the application for the Ocean Ready App about 3 weeks ago.

I was told the Ocean Medallion  was going to be mailed to me 2 weeks before the cruise.

Tony, do you know what to do with the OM when you get it?

We didn't fill out the application to have ours  sent to us because we have no clue of what to do with them  so thought it would be best to wait to get ours when we boarded the ship.  :classic_blush:

If your experience is anything like ours, you’re going to love it. Ours left Singapore via DHL on a Friday and arrived in North Texas three days later on Monday.

Ocean Ready was our friend!

Hi LuLu,

I hope I’m doing this right. :classic_blink: I received this just the other day from Princess it tells you the benefit of filling out the Ocean Ready App and how to do it. One of the benefits you will receive your Ocean Medallion in the mail.

Watch the video it’s from YouTube it may help answer your questions. One benefit you will board the ship faster if you all ready   have the Ocean Medallion.

LuLu don’t forget you still owe me a dance. 😁😁

Are the Ocean Medallions blue or are they the Color of your membership?

Loyalty color.

It appeared however, that all of the inserts (that into which the OM fits and is in turn placed into the clear plastic holder) were blue. BUT........ inserts for all loyalty colors were available at the OM desk for a *nominal* charge! These, along with a couple of dozen other inserts signifying religion, nationality, etc., etc.

Yet another in a long string of on board "shopping opportunities"!  Aren't they nice. 😀

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread!  I had no idea that the OM was going to be up and running.  We have downloaded the app, entered our passport info and pictures, etc.  The avatar picture option is very fun!

We tried to order the medallions, but the app said that there wasn't sufficient time to mail them.  Thus we will pick them up at the port.  Fine with us.

We're pretty psyched about this!  Tony, that YouTube video was great.  Thanks for the link.

Many thanks again to all!

One thing I don’t think the video tells you is, after you scan your passport, you have to take a picture of it.  I missed that the first time.

I’m glad to hear that there’s actually something that the OM will do for me.

If you wait to pick up the OM when you board the ship, will it be completely ready for you to use?

All the PM has on it is a code that the ship's computers link to your information. So whether you get it in the mail or at the port terminal it will have the code that identifies you and thus once on board will be 100% ready.
