Well, that’s about it. I hope you had fun following along. If anyone has any last-minute questions, fire away.

Our next confirmed voyage is the 10-day southern on the Crown next December. Hopefully something else will pop up earlier in the year.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!

Steve.

Thanks for your extensive blog.  Loved all the pictures.  We will be on the Royal January 26.

Happy 2019 and happy cruising!

We always do MDR. Thinking about just relaxing on the next cruise and doing the buffet on several nights. Any idea how the food selection compares to the MDR each night?

While not everyone will think likewise, we mainly go to the buffet each night except on formal nights where the special food items are presented in the DR.

They usually have 99% of the same things at the buffet with even more selections not seen in the DR. This gives you the opportunity to sample a little of each thing.

Besides that we can finish dinner in around an hour while the DR is usually 1 1/2 hours at best especially if your seated at a larger table.

Back home this afternoon after a post-cruise couple of days at the Marriott Palm Beach Singer Island resort. It only took an hour at the resort to reaffirm our desire to take a cruise over staying at a resort any time.

Palm Beach Singer Island Marriott a disappointment?? We went there one year just for a few days and really didn't like it.....pretty bad surrounding area

Do they have escargot and cheesecake?

Neither are served at the buffet, but you could always stop off in the DR after the show for coffee & cheesecake or go to the IC any time.

Escargot is usually served only on one night in the DR unless you make a special request for it with a meal ahead of time.

Thank you for another informative and entertaining review, Steve. Jim and I enjoyed meeting you and Shari at the M&G while on the ship, hope to see you guys again on a future cruise. Just grabbed a last minute Regal 7 day to same ports, didn't want the vacation to end 🙂

Happy New Year!

Nice review and pics, thanks!  We were on her the week before and then went down to Miami to jump on the NCL Bliss.  While docked in St. Thomas I saw your cruise coming in and filmed it docking from the Bliss.

That's awesome! I can watch my balcony go by!

The resort itself wasn't that bad, but the couple of days before Christmas it was expectedly full of kids running around noisily. And I'll never complain about the elevators on a ship again after having to queue up for the two working elevators at the resort!

Looks like the Sea and the Star are the only ones with USB outlets.  The Star received the new lamps at the bedside that contained two USB outlets during their summer wet dock.  It was great.  But, heard that those lamps were very pricey and ergo may not be used on all ships.  😞

We had those wonderful lamps on the Pacific Princess!
