Sweetnspicy Posted December 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2018 Is there a way I can look quickly at how many cruise ships would be in a certain port? I really want to book a certain excursion but after seeing reviews of way to many people at the excursion and a quite a few comments about checking to see how many ships were there, it has made me anxious. I don't want to spend $250 to be herded like cattle. Its an excursion in Puerto Vallarta if that matters.
TPgal Posted December 17, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 17, 2018 A quick google search comes up with: https://www.cruisemapper.com/ports
Paul Bogle Posted December 17, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 17, 2018 Try this one: https://www.cruisetimetables.com Click on Ports of Call, find your port and click on it, then click on the date you will be there.

This one gives you PORT LOAD presume that is the total capacity of all ships in port that day. Not everyone gets off the ship(s) - not all ships operate on the same schedule - not all vendors work all cruise lines. Thanks to all the posters in this thread with those LINKs providing more information about ports and ships.
Swalsh80 Posted December 18, 2018 #9 Share Posted December 18, 2018 Cruiseoutlook.com can tell you what ships are expected and approx number of people in port. We just got back from Nassau, there were three other ships there and the excursion to the aquarium at Atlantis was so ridiculously crowded we only saw a couple of fish, not worth the time or money. OCruisers Posted December 18, 2018 #10 Share Posted December 18, 2018 Gosh, having only four ships is Nassau is a rather light day. It's just some excursions are more crowded than others...

It tells us the best day to venture into Nassau and the fish fry.
