How many ships in a port?

Is there a way I can look quickly at how many cruise ships would be in a certain port? I really want to book a certain excursion but after seeing reviews of way to many people at the excursion and a quite a few comments about checking to see how many ships were there, it has made me anxious. I don't want to spend $250 to be herded like cattle. Its an excursion in Puerto Vallarta if that matters.

Not sure what you will do with the data. Is 2 too much?  How about 4? 8?

Book your excursion. Have a great cruise.

More than 2 is too many. I watched some youtube reviews on this particular excursion and the crowds of people doing the excursion was crazy.

Interesting !

This one gives you PORT LOAD presume that is the total capacity of all ships in port that day.

Not everyone gets off the ship(s) - not all ships operate on the same schedule - not all vendors work all cruise lines.

Thanks to all the posters in this thread with those LINKs providing more information about ports and ships.

Cruiseoutlook.com can tell you what ships are expected and approx number of people in port.

We just got back from Nassau, there were three other ships there and the excursion to the aquarium at Atlantis was so ridiculously crowded we only saw a couple of fish, not worth the time or money.

We use it every year when we’re at Atlantis for a week. It tells us the best day to venture into Nassau and the fish fry.
