Tip: Celebrity still has free room service.  Itis a great way to avoid the other crowded venues on sea days.

Since we had a late arrival for San Juan, we ordered free room service to enjoy on the balcony.

We were in San Juan just before Thanksgiving last month.  We did a tour for $15 each on one of these Ford shuttle buses.  It was well worth the price, and took us to a part of new San Juan also.

Tip:  If you would like to get a good overview of San Juan without paying the outrageous prices some of the cruise lines charge, this is a great option.  Just walk to the street east of the Sheraton (to the right) and get on a tour on one of these buses.

The frog was missing last month, but we are glad to see the friendly welcome is back!

We decided to enjoy our coctail hour and dinner before heading ashore for a Christmas Lights stroll.

The view from Star lounge, where Captain’s Club Cocktail hour is hosted:

Thanks for the live review!  We will be on the Equinox for the Super Bowl Cruise Feb. 2.  Hopefully our Vikings will be there, but I’m sure we’ll enjoy the cruise no matter what happens.   We have been on the Reflection and the Shilouette so looking forward to seeing the differences on the Equinox.  If you’ve sailed either the Reflection or the Shilouette, anything we should know about the Equinox?

Thanks for taking us on your journey, its so helpful.  I am eager to learn the ins and outs of the Equinox before we board in three weeks.  We were only on the S Class once (Solstice the week after her maiden voyage many years ago) and never sailed the S Class again.  I am sure this will be a better experience than we had on the Solstice.  I won't bore you with the details!

I had to go to the naughty room on our Equinox cruise in October for what they thought was a power strip. It was my flat iron which locks closed and has a pouch, so I guess it could look like a power strip.

Process was quick, and once they saw what it was, they cleared my case and I was on my way.

Hello, Ordinary Chef!  Thank you for following along!  This is our first S-Class experience, so I do not have any comparative info in that regard.  Hopefully, the review is overall still helpful.  🙂

Hi Mparis!  Thank you for your continued interest and comments.  🙂 I will give a summary at the end of “My View”, but we are certainly enjoying our cruise so far.   Enjoy your countdown!

Hi, sn!  I agree the process was quick and the security officers were very kind and professional.  🙂 I am definitely packing anything with a cord in carry on next time.

I am enjoying your review will be on this cruise next October . And just became elite after our last cruise so looking forward to some of the extra perks.

We LOVE the Elite perks.  I am surprised at how quiet the Elite events are.  We asked our waitress at breakfast yesterday if it is always so quiet.  She said that last week was super busy at all Elite events, but this week is different due to many families traveling for Christmas.

Semi-Live continues...

Hello, Everyone!

This review has become semi-semi-live... Had a great excursion to Saint John today, so I have been slow to return here.  I will try to close out San Juan now, and hope to post plenty over the next two sea days.

Feel free to ask questions if you have any.  I will see what I can find out about Persian Garden from the Captain’s Club Rep.  🙂

West Indies Fish Cake: (Okay - a bit dry... If it came with more salsa, it would be a repeater.  It had only a hint of salsa though)

We did not even look at the dessert menu, but went ashore in search of the  Christmas decorations that our tour guide had told us about last month.  To our disappointment, we did not find much.

Thanks APDMOM for the response.  I’m sure I’ll get a good idea of differences from your excellent postings, especially the great pictures!  Enjoy the rest of your cruise and thanks for taking the time for the live review.

APDMOM, so glad to see your review on the Celebrity boards. I always loved your Royal reviews with great commentary and your fantastic pictures. Alas, I am rarely on the RCI boards as we have pretty much moved over to Celebrity, so I feel like I received a belated Christmas gift finding your review. Equinox was our first Celebrity ship and the ship and crew wooed us away from RCI. Enjoy!!

Thanks so much for posting the all the menus!  Add us to the "first time on Celebrity" group--we're going on Equinox after the refurbishment.  I'm anxious to see how it compares to RCI and our recent cruises on Azamara.

I'm glad I found your review, ADPMOM! I knew you were doing a Christmas cruise on Celebrity, but with everything we have had going on here at home, I had forgotten when you were cruising, but I felt a nagging need to look at the Celebrity board. I'm so glad I followed my instincts and came over here. I will, of course, continue to follow along! :classic_biggrin:
