My View: An Equinox Christmas, Naughty Room and All!

Christmas Show:

They also had a special Christmas show.  The aerialists and acrobat were good, but the singing was not that good.  The rendition of Silent Night that the singers performed was unfortunately too difficult for them to execute.  It was an off key mess.  

 

This was the first show we attended and it was quite disappointing.  However, I am glad I gave them another chance in the Broadway Cabaret, because the singers are actually quite good.

I was able to confirm today that the pass for Persian Garden is complimentary while the ship is in the port in the morning.  🙂

Glad you jumped in so I won't be surprised when we get to our cabin!  I didn't think it was going to be so "obstructed".  I can truly say I have had very good luck in our 40 + cruises selecting cabins and the two times we did have a guarantee the cabins were great.  DH likes to sit on the balcony and relax looking at the beautiful sky and water.  Guess this cruise will be a slight exception.  LOL

Lovely sunset, I might be able to edit those lifeboats out of my photos!  Guess I will have to go up on the deck to take photos on this cruise.

Thank you, upwarduk, for your helpful contribution!  I think we would have been okay with deck 6, but for the $30 upgrade to deck 8, it was definitely worth the unobstructed view. 🙂

We had an excellent experience at the Senior Officers’ Cocktail Party (Celebrity’s version of the “welcome back” party).  More details to come.  Right now, I am “partied out”... (Which means I am on the wrong side of 40, had 2 free drinks, and the ship is rocking me to sleep) 😂

Question how did  you get the upgrade from deck 6 to deck 8 for $30.  They sent me a bidding form to bid on another

cabin and the lowest bid started at $125pp for a veranda that we already have, I assume it would have been unobstructed.

My nieces are GF (Celiac) and I cruise with my sister.  As I recall they usually have macaroons or something like that.

I booked this cruise late and all that was available on the package we bought were guarantee cabins.  It looks like you have a great balcony.

It looks like they have on GF option.  This morning, they have GF muffins.  🙂In Oceanview Café, they have a whole section of GF desserts every day.

We booked our room during a sale after final payment was due.  Then,  prices dropped again during another sale.  I did a mock booking, and the balcony on deck 8 was only $30 more than what we had paid for deck 6. (Our deck 6 cabin had dropped about $120 at that time).  I called to see if we could get onboard credit for our room, but they said I could only upgrade.  When I told them the price I saw for deck 8, they agreed that I could pay in $30 and move to deck 8.  It took about 20 minutes on the phone, but I was able to upgrade without using the bidding system.  🙂

Thanks Champagne123 for posting the balcony photo of cabin 6262.  This is the worst balcony cabin I have ever had on any ship.  So much for guarantee cabins and late bookings.

Do a mock booking on your own.  The upbid offer is a totally different beast.  Pretend you are booking the sailing your are on and see what the lowest price for an unobstructed balcony is selling for.  Then if the price works for you, call Celebrity or your TA and pay to get the better balcony.  I don't know if your cabin is a 2D or 2C.  There are some 2C cabins all the way aft that have as an obstruction just the roof of Blu.

Thanks Helen I will give it another try.  I tried yesterday to do that and it was not showing any veranda cabins available, so strange!
