Batewolf Posted January 16, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2019 My travel agent has asked us to choose between early or late seating on the main dining room but when I log in to my account I get the option to book My Time Dining and select times for each individual day. Is this right? I hope so as early is fine unless we've been out at a port all day... We'd like early when there's a show on but not sure how to find out what's on on what day. Missymo Posted January 16, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2019 If it shows up on your account, book it. After all is booked, take a photo and give it to your TA.
CaribbeanLover22 Posted January 16, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2019 From my experience, you can pick between a set time, early seating, usually around 6:00, and a late seating, usually around 8:00, or you can choose My Time Dining, in which case you would make your own reservations each night individually, so they don't have to be the same time every night.

cb at sea Posted January 16, 2019 #5 Share Posted January 16, 2019 With MTD, you can go when you want, not when your "time" is. Up to you, tho, We enjoy traditional with tablemates....we LIKE talking to others at dinner! Nowadays, many folks don't want company...so sad. debgreg Posted January 16, 2019 #6 Share Posted January 16, 2019 We have always done MTD because sometimes I want to eat early, sometimes late, but we have always been seated on big tables and chatted to lots of different people 🤗
Rare BirdTravels Posted January 17, 2019 #7 Share Posted January 17, 2019 Since “we” are never on time, MTD works the best for us.

Giantfan13 Posted January 17, 2019 #9 Share Posted January 17, 2019 (edited) Since I got out of the service, some 50 years ago, I have never wanted anyone to tell me exactly when I have to eat. So, we cruise with lines (almost all of the now) that have My Time Dining, or whatever every other line calls it. We love it. With MTD, you can book a specific time you might want to eat each night. Look at your itinerary and see which days you are at sea and might want to eat a bit earlier and on port days maybe a bit later. It's up to you. That said, you are not bound by that reservation. If you made a reservation for say 7:00 and you want to eat at 6:30, just go down and see if there is anything available. Most likely you will be seated in a few minutes, depending on if you want to share a table. We always share and we meet so many interesting people. If you find people you hit if off with, you can dine with them again any night or just go it alone and see who you will be seated with. If you find a particular waiter you like, you can ask to be seated in their area also. For that, you might have to wait a bit, depending on when you go to eat, but that is up to you.
