Star Princess Saunas and Lap Pool

Are the saunas and Lap Pool on the Star Princes open to all cruisers, or do you have to pay?

Steam room and Saunas are complementary, located in spa man and women's locker rooms.  They are very nice, Star is one of our favorite  ship.  I did not use Pool, but never heard of Princess charge fee for using Pools.

Even though the deck plans make the Lap Pool appear to be within the confines of the Lotus Spa it is not and is open to all, though nominally adults only.

 

And while use of the Thermal Suite on Star Princess does require either purchase of a cruise-long pass or a spa treatment that allows use for the remainder of the day, as  mentioned above the saunas in the locker rooms are free to all. Though no guarantee they will issue you a locker key if you have not purchased one of the above amenities, so just show up in bathing suite and/or robe.

Lap pool is mostly a misnomer.  It's not very long and no real straight/smooth wall for turning around.  Grand class ships originally had a current machine in the Lotus Pool that was great for swimming work-outs, but lately I haven't found many (if any at all) that are still operable...YMMV

I have never seen the lap pool working with a current.  It is simply another swimming pool for adults only with a very limited deck around them that holds a few lounges.  The sauna and steam room is in the men and women's bathrooms (yes they have showers) and like the lap pool are only accessible by going into the spa and passing the spa desk.  Towels are provided.  The exercise room is also located in the spa and is open to all adults.

On Grand Class ships, the Lotus Pool can be accessed from outside without going through the spa area, but you have to be able to use steps (i.e. not wheelchair or scooter accessible)
