Get outta town Posted January 19, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2019 Hi All. We are signed up to do the Dragons Breath flighline in Labadee. We are just wondering how they check the weight limit. My husband is close to the limit and wondered if they have a scale to weigh in or if they just guess? Any information about how this works would be appreciated. Thank you. Clarea Posted January 19, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2019 They have a scale and they do weigh people when they think it's necessary.

LilBlackDress Posted January 19, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2019 When we did it years ago, they weighed everyone!
Becoming Posted January 19, 2019 #5 Share Posted January 19, 2019 I did the zipline back in October and I believe they weighed everyone. The number was then written on my wristband. Enjoy "flying"! Patti
BillieJeanKaraokeKing Posted January 19, 2019 #6 Share Posted January 19, 2019 You sign in in a shack at your allocated time, and they weigh you and band you then. I think my poundage was written on the band. They then ask you to hold the "reins" (lighter) or top bars (heavier) on the way down depending on your weight range
not-enough-cruising Posted January 19, 2019 #7 Share Posted January 19, 2019 Agree with everyone, in July they weighed EVERYONE. Also, this hasn’t been mentioned but the weight limit is always fluctuating with the atmospheric conditions (predominantly the wind).

Same here -- we zip-lined the very first year that Dragon's Breath was open. You were even assigned to a particular 'line' based on your weight.

When we did it in 2011, they weighed everyone and in our case everyone had stepped up on the scale and been weighed and cleared to go when one of the staff came in and gave the guide an update on the wind speed. Apparently the wind had increased to a particular threshold and one of the guys in our previously approved group was told due to the change in wind speed he was no longer "cleared" to go and so his GF had go by herself...I can't remember what the weight limit was.... lovescats5 Posted January 19, 2019 #12 Share Posted January 19, 2019 They weighed husband, son, granddaughter when they went. My granddaughter was 9 and her weight determined which line she would go on and when she would put out her arms and legs. So I guess I would agree with everyone that said they weight everyone, regardless.
