Are there soda machines or do you get cans from the bar like on Carnival

You can purchase sodas in bottles from vending machines in arcades on most ships. Not on the Bliss.

They have diet Sierra Mist, which some of the servers call diet Sprite. It works.

I am a Coke Zero drinker so it's tough on NCL.  Choices are Diet Pepsi or Diet Sierra Mist.  I sometimes just go with iced tea.  

I have found adding a lime or lemon wedge to the Diet Pepsi helps me get through it until I reach a port with diet Coke

Ironically, my hubby is a die hard Coke fan - refuses Pepsi in a restaurant, but actually likes a Jack and Pepsi.  To each their own, I guess.  If it's fountain soda, I'm OK with Pepsi (don't like it, but I'm OK with it).
