If you mean MB is like HMC because it's a private area developed by the cruise line, I totally agree.

 

However, I find HMC to be vastly more Caribbean beautiful, with its white sand and aqua blue water than the man made limestone beach at MB.

MB is an easy walk from the ship - no need to take the chair lift unless you want the ride. The beach chairs are free. It does get crowded if there are two ships in port - the last time we went, we had people clamoring for our chairs when we went back to the ship. In addition to the beach, there are some nice nature walks in the port area. Food and drink are extra at the port area - we did get drinks, but went back aboard the ship for lunch.

 

If you opt for a ship excursion, they will pick you up right at the port area. However, if you book an independent tour, you will have to exit the port area and walk (uphill) to meet your tour.
