Our Chances on Booking A Sold Out Category

Our TA got us a great price, great cabin 3 days ago, we declined, and have now changed our minds.  Looking at the website tonight, I see the category is Sold Out.  What are our chances of getting that cruise, in that category for that date?  Thank you for any experiences you may have had.  Have an email to our TA, and will call in the morning.

Very late cancellations happen all the time and many times the week prior to sailing.  Some people, especially those who have cancel at anytime insurance, often cancel  RIGHT before the cruise.  So, you have a decent chance to get onboard.  Getting the category you want might be more difficult however.

Just like a similar question today, no one is going to be able to effectively answer your questions, primarily because there is a lot of info that is not public, like number of guarantee bookings. And anyone else who might have something resembling an experience like this will, a) probably not have actual knowledge of how their booking was created, and b), not be aware how many things in their booking were similar,  and how many were dissimilar to your situation.

Even if that category becomes available on that date, there is no assurance that the 'great price' will be available then.

Perhaps, you might want to reserve another room and switch if the old offer becomes available again.  (Careful on the non-refundable deposits.)

Well, we got the cabin cat we wanted!  We decided to take the OV yesterday, which ended up being $400 more than the Lanai we had been quoted before.  Today, I saw Lanai's were again available, not Sold Out, and our TA got it for us, and $22.00 less than the OV, and better location.  Our TA is so wonderful!

Thanks for your encouragement!
