MSC Yacht club - any "surprise" fees or upcharges?

NCL Haven cruiser, working on my first MSC YC booking, waiting to hear back from TA about mandatory fees.  How about less obvious stuff - is there a DSC (I'm sure she will tell me about that) and if yes, who is NOT covered that we should plan on tipping - separate from any extra tips that are more discretionary.  I know spa staff of course, but beyond that?  Butler & concierge?  Other? (no child care needed so that's not an issue).

Surprisingly there are no upcharges other then the usual tips.   If you want Internet that is something you will have to buy,  The service we received in the YC was totally amazing and we did spread around a lot of extra tips....but that was our decision.  In fact, we had a decent amount of OBCs (we booked through a cruise agency that gave us an extra $700) which was not refundable.  We used about $170 for Internet (we were on the ship for 21 days) but did not spend any other money.  So towards the end of the cruise, DW bought herself some nice jewelry and we still had about $200 left.  On the last night, rather then leave that money unused...I went to the Casino and got $200 of chips.  It took me about 10 minutes of Blackjack to turn it into about $300...at which point I cashed out :).

I believe the daily gratuity is $12.50 per day, even in the Yacht Club.  And the Butler, Concierge and YC staff are all included, not like NCL where the Butler is not.  The only surprise you'll get in the YC is how truly wonderful it is.

I'll just add one thing to the tipping issue.  Drinks outside the yacht club are still free (included), but the outside bartenders don't get any of the DSC - they get taken care of from the 15% added gratuity on a drink or drink package.  But I didn't pay that, so the bartender is getting nothing from me in the way of the normal 15% gratuity.  So in that instance I would tip the bartender when getting a drink outside of the yacht club.

so... what would a normal 'average' tip to the MD or bartender be?  I am buying some Euros, but not sure of the denominations to get?

I won't suggest tips, but here are the euro denominations.  The notes will be different colors and designs depending on the country of issuance.

Thanks for confirming I was correct. Cheers!

Hmmm, I'm confused - your original post said "The notes will be different colors and designs depending on the country of issuance."

But now you are saying that you're correct to a reply that says "The county design differences are only valid for coins"

We are going to Europe for the fist time this year so I would like to get it clear in my mind.

easy

notes are all the same over Europe as long as you are inside EU-banking area.

Not all europe countries are part of this union, prominent example: Switzerland - they have there the Franken, but are located in the middle of Europe, but not part of the EU...., ist a bit complicated....

general rule: 2 series of EU notes, both are valid without limitations

500€ note is in face out, be aware, some shops do not accept this size anymore, mostly pumping stations

Front side of coins are all the same, here the value is written on,

back is indivial by country and eery country has a few versions....

I hope this helps.....

LOL!  Wow. click, ignore.  Credibility issues.  Pics speak 1000 words.  The bills are clearly different.  So are the coins.
