At Le Havre Port what can we do beside visiting the war memorial?

We will be on Princess Crown in June, at port Le Havre what else can we do beside visiting the war memorial.   We travel with young children, and don't think they will enjoy the long ride to the war memorial.   Is the town walkable or anything else we can do close to port.

yes  you can walk around the town

depending on the ages of the children you could do a tour to Honfleur

There is a lovely carousel in Honfleur that your children would enjoy.  It is a beautiful  little town and easy to walk around in.  Very quaint and definitely European.

Yes, Honfleur would be a great place to to spend the day. On our last cruise, we booked a private tour of the WWII sites for the morning, had lunch at a quaint cafe in Bayeaux, then completed our tour with a few hours in Honfleur. The carousel is spectacular, and the myriad of sweet shops are a candy [chocolate] lovers paradise.

Honfleur is across the Seine River (where the ships dock) from Le Havre.
