Day Pass for Cruise Ship?

Does Royal sell day passes for their cruise ships?  If so, do you know for how much and who to contact to arrange it?  Traveling on Anthem 2/23 and we'll be docking for a day in Port Canaveral, near my cousin.  Looking into options of what we can do for the day, and wondered if we can pay a fee to bring her onboard for the day.  I vaguely remember reading someone talking about day passes for a cruise line somewhere, though I think it might have been a new ship the line (not necessarily Royal) was trying to show off.  Thanks!

This is not offered.  I believe it was possible prior to 9/11, but in this post-9/11 world it is not.   

 

They do, at times, do tours for credentialed Travel Agents.  That is probably what you heard about.

The only cruise line that was offering Day Passes that I know of, was Princess, however I don't know if they still do this. This doesn't help you for Royal. We did it once, had lunch on board but had to be off by 2  PM so didn't give you a lot of time to explore. Cost was around $40

Princess Bon Voyage Experience (BVE) program currently is $39 and offered at several US ports.  You check in exactly the same as passengers but board a bit earlier.  Includes lunch with wine, tour, photo and $39 Future Cruise Deposit.  Nothing like it on Royal.  People do book these for friends and if they run out of $100 FCD deposits and need more (this allows you to book any cruise with no more money down than that $100 and you get OBC back when you cruise).

No, this is not offered by Royal Caribbean

Just to clarify if it was available it would not be offered by the cruise port but by the cruise lines that utilize that port.  And as Ken correctly pointed out relative to this thread, RCI does not offer that. I am also not aware of this being offered by any of the cruise lines that serve Baltimore (Carnival, NCL).  But you would have to reach out to them directly to confirm.

We actually saw day visitors last April and funnily enough on Anthem in Port Canaveral, it was a sailing from Port Liberty so was a port stop.

 

It could have been a travel agent thing as they had badges but there were children with them, we saw them gathered in Boleros late evening before the 10pm departure.

Royal Caribbean does not do day passes. They do some travel agency familization tours.  I did one in Baltimore that my travel agent took me on because I was a valued  customer. It was not a day pass. We got a tour of the ship and saw a number of different cabin category's and we had lunch in the MDR. Not day pass where you can use the amenities or the run of the ship but an escorted tour. When the ship is in Baltimore it is turnaround day.

Travel agent tour or there was a wedding onboard. If they were on that late I would guess wedding.

It could have been crew family.  I know a sous chef was able to invite his family on board when Grandeur had a port stop in Jamaica (his home country).

Also on Anthem during its first stop in Miami they brought hundreds of RC employees on board, fed them lunch and had a presentation in the Two70 venue showcasing that venue.  Nick Weir, former SVP of entertainment did the spiel.  Many employees had never seen a Q class ship because back then they never home ported in Florida.  

 

For Icon I know travel agents are doing a tour in September but that's also Miami.  

 

SilverSea has a program where past guests can visit a ship during a port stop.  At least they did pre-pandemic.  Not sure they still do it.  Had to have sailed with them before.

I was going to suggest wedding was an option also. I have read that you can have embarkation day weddings where non-sailing guests are allowed onboard for the wedding but then must leave when the announcement is made for guests to disembark.
