DeckLife Posted March 7, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2019 Our "cruise ticket" says our "Check-in opens" at 5:15pm and closes at 6pm. We will be on Divina March 14, and we sure as heck don't want to board that late. Or is "check-in" different from actually getting on the ship. This will be our first time on MSC, but we got a gold status match and we did book Aurea. Can anyone help?
Até Posted March 8, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2019 The assigned check in time isn't enforced. I wouldn't show up before 10:30am as you may get held outside the terminal. We arrived around then and there were already lots of people ahead of us. Remember you get to use the priority line for check in and make sure the agent gives you a "priority" embarkation pass, not a numbered one. Embarkation usually starts just before noon, you should look to board just after Yacht Club and about the same time as special assistance. Aurea gets first day lunch in the lower Black Crab restaurant rather than only in the buffet. If you like steak, get the special one offered only that day. Rare EngIceDave Posted March 8, 2019 #4 Share Posted March 8, 2019 I asked about this when I called and the young lady said to ignore it, said she didn't know why they scheduled so late, she suggested noon-1pm

phissy Posted March 8, 2019 #8 Share Posted March 8, 2019 Same thing. Happened to us. Seemed like a strange time for check in. We are Black and are in the YC on our cruise next week . We just plan on showing up at noon and hope for the best. In London now and heading for Barcelona soon.

I was called a socialist in another thread when I thought that it was unfair if some people were allowed to board around 10 and some had to wait until 4. Some Americans thought that was a Swedish socialist way to see it! I'm not a socialist just because I'm from Sweden!
sconter Posted March 8, 2019 #10 Share Posted March 8, 2019 there is no way I would board at that time. I am on the Bellissima this July, will be going to the port between 11 and 12 and I would expect to be on board in an hour.
