knittinggirl Posted March 18, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2019 How do we find the pre and post-cruise hotels on the new HAL website?
Rare TiogaCruiser Posted March 18, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 18, 2019 Mine came up under shorex in my booking. I’m not sure if you must be booked to see hotels.
zqvol Posted March 18, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 18, 2019 Before booking through HAL, make sure you check prices booking directly. You may beat the price.
dfish Posted March 18, 2019 #4 Share Posted March 18, 2019 I found it under Travel Planning when I bring up my specific cruise. There is a page about it if you haven't booked, but no specific information about what hotels they use.
Rare Roz Posted March 18, 2019 #5 Share Posted March 18, 2019 This link to the HAL website indicates this information is available once you're booked: https://www.hollandamerica.com/en_US/pre-post-travel-cruise.html Roz
mauimacho Posted March 18, 2019 #6 Share Posted March 18, 2019 I checked for our upcoming Copenhagen stay and HAL price is 3 times the price booking directly.

No question about that. In some cases HAL has good locations for hotels. In other cases they don’t. It’s worth doing a bit of research IMO.

I booked HAL hotel for Rotterdam for this May. Yes, it was a bit more expensive than booking it myself. But, going with HAL includes: 1) Meeting me at Amsterdam Airport 2) Driving me to Rotterdam (private car) 3) Free breakfast next day 4) Luggage handling 5) Bus to ship 6) Availability of a HAL rep at hotel for any help etc. Going solo this is worth it for a few extra bucks.

Agreed! In 2017, I booked the HAL hotel for Amsterdam. My luggage didn't make it to Amsterdam when I did and the airline said they'd bring it out the next afternoon. Just a bit of a problem there as we sailed the next afternoon. I reported this to the HAL agent at the hotel and they had it to me that evening. That was worth it to me. Sue, as a solo traveler myself, I think in this instance it's worth it to book hotels and transfers thru HAL. Your flight lands in Amsterdam but the ship debarks from Rotterdam. American Airlines lost our luggage, and we had the Pan Pacific, Travel Guard, and Princess all looking for it. We always at least one cruise tag on the bags when we fly. The luggage was waiting for us after dinner.
