Family of 15 dining recommendations

Recommended Posts

We are doing a cruise on Oasis and I am conflicted about what kind of dining times will work for our family.  We have a 4, 5, 6 and 7 year old little ones plus 3 teenagers.  The 4 smaller kids are very picky eaters and probably would not do well in the main dining room.  The 3 teenagers would enjoy the main dining rom along with the parents.  If we take the younger ones to the Windjammer early for dinner can we take them to the kids club so the teenagers and adults can enjoy a dinner in the main dining room?  Any advise from families who have dealt with this issue would be appreciated.

What you have planned would work well.  They also have a family dining plan for those on early traditional dining,  You go to early seating and the wait staff get the kids dinner over in 45 minutes,  the staff from the kids club arrives in the main dinning room and takes all the kids signed up off to the club to allow the adults time to enjoy the 90 minute meal. Only available for early traditional dinning.  Dinner, Diner, Dining, Dinning,, what a pain to remember.

LOL 🙂

You can have dinner in a diner or in a dining room but you're only likely to have dinning if everyone is clinking their glasses repetitively 🙂

Early seating would probably work best, especially with kids who may want to do the club in the evening.  I'd go traditional, so there's no waiting for a table, or reservations needed.   The "picky" eaters will find plenty on the menu....the kid's menu has lots of "kid friendly" options, that even adults may get!!

A family of 15 I would recommend birth control. JUST KIDDING 😋

Your own suggestion sounds like a good plan. Windjammer will do a better job of satisfying those young picky eaters and still afford you the later opportunity of getting a waited on, sit down meal in MDR with the older kids.

Just to elaborate on the kids' menu in the MDR.  They offer such things as mac and cheese, chicken nuggets/fingers, hotdogs, hamburgers, plain pasta, PB&J , plain chicken breast, mashed potatoes.  On our family cruise on the first night one of the kids wanted fruit and then , go course, they all wanted it.  Our waiter obliged with a lovely fresh fruit cup, and there was one waiting for each child when we arrived at the table every night for the rest of the cruise.  The staff will work with you to make everyone happy!  I can't imagine a little one so picky that one of those offerings would not work.   Hope your family has a great time!
