Luggage weight limit.

I see on Carnivals site that luggage should not exceed 50 pounds. How strict are they with that? I know on airplanes, they weigh luggage at check in. Does Carnival weigh luggage?

Unless they are doing it somewhere behind the scenes, no, they do not weigh luggage.

The weight limit is set in consideration of the several unfortunate porters

who must sprain their backs to lift your 55-60 pound suitcase

on and off luggage trolleys. It's a human anatomy thing...you see..

 

So have a heart and try to stick to 45, OK?

Looks like you are new to cruising.

Pack your bags...………..take half of it out as you will not need it or use it.

Pack your wallet...………….not enough, double it and you will be fine.

The porters may refuse to take your luggage or have you put in on the cart if it is too heavy and the tip too light.

Just keep each piece to 40 lbs or less and the porters will be fine.

Carnival's guideline says 50 lbs or less. If you hit that mark, you're not doing anything wrong.
