pe4all Posted April 18, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2019 So Trump announced he was placing new sanctions for tourists travelimg to Cuba. While we don't know when they will begin, it seems cruise travel there will be eliminated. Cuba was on my bucket list, to be fulfilled by our May Sensation stop there. Hoping the sanctions won't begin for a while, as our cruise is in 3 weeks! I feel bad for all the Cuban people who will be losing a lot of their income as cruise and air travel will be very limited or totally eliminated according to reports. quickrate Posted April 18, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2019 I'm bummed! We just booked a cruise to cuba for next April! The only reason I booked that cruise is for that port! Pat
Despegue Posted April 18, 2019 #3 Share Posted April 18, 2019 One can always sail on MSC and Costa, who sail out of non-USA ports to Cuba. A good way to avoid any moronic travel regulations.
JaniceB Posted April 18, 2019 #4 Share Posted April 18, 2019 The problem is we are still US citizens sailing to the port, I would be a little leary if the sanctions take place.

So what? If you depart in say La Romana, and do not call in any US port, the US government has no info about you visiting Cuba.
Rare Essiesmom Posted April 18, 2019 #6 Share Posted April 18, 2019 There were multiple threads on this yesterday and they have all been rolled into this one: Yours probably will be, too. EM
Host Carolyn Posted April 18, 2019 #7 Share Posted April 18, 2019 Yes, easier to keep track of this hot topic, which I could move to Cubs board but will leave here if remains non political and in guidelines

If you need the assistance of an embassy there will not be one.
