h20cruzer Posted April 25, 2019 Author #28 Share Posted April 25, 2019 Sorry for the delay. Everything went well yesterday we caught all of our flights I met up with Sharon in Taipei and onto Tokyo we went. We picked up our luggage but our limo bus tickets and we’re at the hotel in about an hour and a half never had to pick up a suitcase they are very efficient here in Tokyo. We got to the hotel about 5 PM and got settled into a room went for a light dinner and were in bed and asleep by 8:30 PM. I’ve got a couple pictures of our dinner and some out the window of the bus will see what Tokyo brings today. By the way some of the pricing on our food last night my drink was ¥1100 a can of Coke was ¥800 that’s a About $7.52 in US dollars I’m opting for a cocktail and yes those are gold flakes on the top of my Godiva something drink, it was delicious.
Denny01 Posted April 26, 2019 #29 Share Posted April 26, 2019 So a Coke was ~$8 and a fun looking Godiva martini was ~$10.......let me think about this!! your thread is going to be fun to track. Den 4

h20cruzer Posted April 26, 2019 Author #31 Share Posted April 26, 2019 After an expensive breakfast, $10.74 for a cup of coffee, free refills of course!! We decided not to go out rainy, windy and too cold for us, spent the day laying around and visiting a very famous 7-11 ha ha. Water was only about 99 cents a bottle. here are a few pics of the lobby and restaurant where we ate. They had these little bins at every table so belongs didn’t have to rest on the floor. strangest thing for a large hotel with 13 restaurants they DO NOT have room service. Millie here we come!! h20cruzer Posted April 26, 2019 Author #32 Share Posted April 26, 2019 We went to a restaurant in the hotel tonight and had a lovely meal. Sharon had a Caesar salad and shrimp tempura, I just had shrimp tempura. We both had a cocktail and did a lot of people watching . Tomorrow will finally be here and we will be happy to board the Millie. Let’s just hope everything goes well and there are no snafu’s in the boarding process.

h20cruzer Posted April 27, 2019 Author #36 Share Posted April 27, 2019 On the ship. So so easy we called the lobby someone picked up our luggage within five minutes we walked down out the front door into account up and on the way to the ship. There were maybe six cabs in front of us to drop her luggage off we check in and walked right onto the ship at 11:40 couldn’t have been easier hallelujah. We went straight to the martini bar for a drink introduce yourself once we finished a drink we went to the Consear‘s lunch in the main dining room. Sharon was tired so she went to lay down and I came back to the martini bar for a drink before lifeboat drill. If anyone has any questions I will try to answer. We sail at 7:00 pm
ThursdaysChild Posted April 27, 2019 #37 Share Posted April 27, 2019 Bon Voyage, Norma! As you go throughout the ship during the cruise, I'll be interested in your feedback on the "Revolutionizing". How's the cabin? Closet space? and most importantly: Martini Bar?

h20cruzer Posted April 28, 2019 Author #40 Share Posted April 28, 2019 (edited) Well folks I have a lot to say today. I will break it into several posts. even though I don’t like the color of the chairs in Cafe Al Bacio they are comfortable and glad Celebrity didn’t update. Martini Bar is unchanged. Yea!! im going to go out of order and talk about room service first. No issues everything good food could have been a little hotter. The room service menu is for a concierge, I believe regular cabins have a menu but not as many options as in the concierge’s cabin Edited April 28, 2019 by h20cruzer Added 2 pictures
h20cruzer Posted April 28, 2019 Author #41 Share Posted April 28, 2019 Getting on the ship was pretty easy no long lines no standing in the rain. Lifeboat drill was 5:00pm, our Station was in the Rendezvous bar, we ended up sitting at the bar however they pack like 650 people in the lounge many left standing, lots of unhappy people. My prayers answered as they did not show that terrible 007 safety video, they just went through the life jacket procedure and where to go if you heard the emergency drill signal, of course they call that all the cabin numbers of those who did not show up for the lifeboat drill in our case it was only like eight or 10 cabins so I was surprised how few people did not show up and that’s a good thing . Graeme captains Club host Spoke about what to do when to be quiet etc. he did have quite a humorous presentation made the time go a little bit quicker. Once the we stayed for a cocktail the lounge looks beautiful so say we did it the only thing that I have a concern about is this long bar that runs vertically to the bar there’s not enough room between the end of that freestanding bar and the regular bar for people to pass through somebody’s going to get hurt from bumping into one of the sharp corners on the granite countertop. h20cruzer Posted April 28, 2019 Author #42 Share Posted April 28, 2019 Let’s move onto the cabin. We are in a C1 concierge handicap cabin on the back of the ship, our room is a little different than other cabins because it’s accessible. Looks very nice when you enter, the USB ports are Awesome, we have two in each nightstand and two at the desk area. Thats about the most positive thing I can say. The functionality in the room leaves a lot to be desired. I will say that the beds were super comfortable, The bedding is very nice and the towels in the bathroom are nice. You cannot even hang up floor length dress in the closet without it being wadded up on the bottom shelf. the closet space for two people for two weeks is not enough I will show pictures of the closets, the drawers and everything else, you be the judge. In the bathroom there are two very very tiny shelves to put your things on somehow they need more storage everywhere the room service tray does not even fit on the desk, the drawers do have soft closures that’s a positive thing right? the Nightstands do you have a door into shows which is nice. h20cruzer Posted April 28, 2019 Author #43 Share Posted April 28, 2019 (edited) As many of you know I was unsuccessful uploading the dailies on my med/transatlantic cruise in November. I’m going to attempt to upload the daily’s. As a sidenote they have not indicated on the daily program with the dress code for the evening is so I called guest relations to say what is the dress code for tonight they said tonight is casual, I said I thought tonight was chic night they said no, chic Night is on the 30th the third and the eighth, they made a mistake by not putting the dress code on the program just seem kind of odd to me I’ve never seen that happen . ThursdaysChild Posted April 28, 2019 #45 Share Posted April 28, 2019 Wow...that closet space is sad. Norma, I think there is more closet space in the Solo balcony cabins on Anthem. Where did you and Sharon end up putting your clothes?

Hi Norma - Very glad to hear that Graeme is the CC host. He is amazing and was a lot of fun last year. Thanks for all the pictures and comments. We'll be joining you in Vancouver and it'll be interesting to compare the Millennium with our previous Edge cruise. Looking forward to meeting you and Sharon. Oliversgrandma Posted April 28, 2019 #47 Share Posted April 28, 2019 Hi there. Amazed to stumble across this blog. We disembarked from Millie yesterday after the two week Japan cruise (it was really good) and still jet-lagged from the flight home. Just to say when you get to Hakodate tomorrow you should really go to visit Fort Goryokaku if you can. It is close to the ship and easily accessible. It is a star-shaped Western style citadel with over a thousand cherry blossom trees. We were there on Tuesday last the blossom was still in bud, just starting to bloom and with luck it should be out in full by tomorrow. We had a wonderful sighting in Hirosaki on Wednesday when the trees were fully out, with hardly any petal fall. Have a wonderful cruise.

ecslady Posted April 28, 2019 #49 Share Posted April 28, 2019 Did they separate the beds that way with the mini-sofa in between or did you come up with that configuration? Very creative. Noticed your shoes all the way up on the top of the closet. Very creative use of space again. I also noticed how thin the desk is. . Not even deep enough for the room service tray. How are the drawers in the desk? Useful or kind of tiny?
Rare hcat Posted April 28, 2019 #50 Share Posted April 28, 2019 Did you have any trouble reaching the shoe shelf on top of the closet? Seems a bit high...I am under 5'5" The room itself and balcony look spacious...bathroom shelves...too few! Enjoy !
