Reservation Online RcI Harmony, No Cabin Assignment?

We just made Reservation with the RCI web site for the Harmony next May 2020. To save some cash we decided to let Rci pick out our cabin. RCI said cabin assignment will not be made until a latter time. Anyone do this? And when will Cabin number be available?? Thanks.

People book GTY cabins all the time. You will need to keep checking the planner for assignment- it can come anytime between now and boarding.

I had done it one time and I was informed of my cabin about 2 months prior to sailing.

One of the people I am going with on Harmony is still waiting for their room assignment.  We are currently 58 days away from cruise date.

I booked a guarantee central park balcony for June 2019 on Harmony, and received my assignment in the cruise planner at Day 50.

Anecdotal evidence (including my own) seems to be that RC is waiting until very close to sail dates to post an assigned cabin number.

 

My guess?

 

They are avoiding having people call to change the cabin.

 

Also, they are using RoyalUp to maximize cabin revenue.  Guaranteed cabins can either be upsold or held out until they know how many people they can get to cough up more money.

We're 21 days from sailing with two guarantees on Symphony. We were assigned 60 days out, my son's room is still not assigned.

I booked a guarantee Neighbourhood balcony for this Christmas back in March and it was assigned 2 weeks later.

For our upcoming sailing on Harmony we received our cabin assignment about 2 weeks before the sailing date.
