Many thanks for your very complete review.  We're on the Eclipse in July and I was especially anxious to hear your impressions of the ship.  We're repeat offenders to Alaska - I think this is our fifth cruise to Alaska.  It's really spectacular, never boring.  I was also very happy to read that you're on the Silhouette in South America - we're booked on the same cruise in January, 2021.  That will be fun to follow along, too.

Looking forward to your pictures!

Thank you for the wonderful review. What will I do now until we leave on the 31st of July for our Adventure? This is the first summer I am EVER looking forward to the end of my break this much, because we are traveling the week before I go back!

Paul, thank you so much for your amazingly comprehensive review.  We're on the Eclipse on the July 21st AK sailing and after reading your review, are more excited than ever.  I'll look for your videos which I believe you said that you will post on you tube.

Thanks again and we look forward to welcoming you and Edward back to Vancouver in September.

Cheers,

Kathy

Great trip review. One question. Did they have a 3 night dining plan for sale during the 1st day.

I’ll go through my papers to see if I see it advertised but to my knowledge they always offer it. You should be able to check your cruise planner for pricing. I can tell you that on our cruise the specialty restaurants were not too busy with the exception of Murano one night. At least what we noticed.

We got off the Eclipse on our 10 day cruise to Alaska on May 19.  It was an absolutely wonderful cruise with friends and everyone we met were so excited to be going to Alaska.  The weather was beyond expectations as I too thought it would be colder but we had blue skies and warm temps almost everyday.  One thing I would suggest to Paul and Edward would be to do a land tour in Anchorage/Denali/Fairbanks/Copper River/Kenai before your cruise or after your next cruise.  Alaska is beautiful!

$129 per person for 3 dinners in specialty restaurants on the first night.

Tonight we we are in Icey Straight and the buffet maître’d offered us 30% off on any restaurant. Tonight only.

Are you on the Sept 1 cruise? It will be our 1st cruise to Bermuda.

We've had that Dec 6 cruise booked since last November, and we couldn't be more excited about it!  Good news -- the penguin excursions are already available to book, if you're interested in one coordinated by Celebrity.  If you're thinking of a private one, do tell, as we'd be delighted to know!

We're also on the Eclipse June 9th - our first cruise to Alaska. Thank you, Paul, for your thoughtful, genuine, and thorough guidance - it has been a trip in itself to check for each new post as we prepare to depart for Vancouver.

I did have one question regarding the Royal Suite perks. As the premium beverage package is included, do you still need to pay the 20% gratuity on any drinks throughout the cruise? This will be our first in this class of suite, so we are still learning the ins and outs.

Thank you again!

Thank you again!

If the cost of the drink exceeds the Premium Maximum of $15.00, you will pay the difference plus 20% gratuity on the difference. An example is a glass of wine costs $20.00. You would be charged $5.00 plus for $1.00 gratuity for a total of $6.00.

PS Paul - We are all still looking for the amazing Moroccan Chicken recipe. Thx

Paul:

Were you able to Match with Mlife over the phone or did you actually have to go to a Casino?   I just got off the phone with Mlife and they will only match when I go to one of their casino desks?  Thanks in advance.  Cheers!

I did it on the phone with no problems, fwiw.  Perhaps try calling again and see if you get someone different.

You can do it over the phone. If you don't have an MLife account they should be able to sign you up for one over the phone. What might make it easier though is to sign up online (here is the link just click Join Now - https://www.mgmresorts.com/en/sign-in.html ) and then call to have them match your status with the account you set up online.

We originally did this all in the casino when we were in Vegas, however, our status expired and we were able to call up and have them update it over the phone in a quick minute.
