May 18th Dawn Canceled Newport due to High Winds

I am so bummed was looking forward to Mansion tours. We pulled in to Newport and left due to high winds.

That stinks such an easy (cheap) trip by public bus to get to the mansions and walk along the cliffs.

It's very windy here in Central CT, so I can only imagine how windy it is on the water in RI.

Thank you for the update, was following seadog on the other live post, check the ship cam to see her running late to port, then a 180 turn, away and out to sea again ... figured that conditions not safe to tender for that 15 minutes ride to go ashore, transfer to the lifeboat last Friday was briefly hallted due to movement.  Ship's satellite WiFi must've been very busy for web traffic, unless you picked up an usable cellular land signal near Block Island.  Enjoy your "extra" sea day.

It was disappointing to miss the port but it was crazy windy. I can't imaging what it would have been like to be a life boat for the ride to shore.
