Question when booking through CAS

Recommended Posts

Hi All.

I have a question, we just booked a cruise through Casino at Seas, we paid the taxes and fees and also picked the beverage package as our perk. We were charged the tax/gratuity for that as well. My question though is that when I go on-line, I am still seeing the option to purchase the Premium Beverage package for over $800pp. My confirmation lists "Adult Beverage Package"/ I don't ever remember seeing the beverage package for sale in the past if we had already chose it as a perk... am I missing something? Anyone have any ideas?

Both of mine also give you the option of purchasing the UBP. My last one we just went on had it too. Go to your NCL click on your summary, then scroll down. You will see your perks listed there. Mine is showing the Adult Beverage Package - Promo for two guests.  Maybe if you have more than two in the cabin you would want to purchase it.

It does that on every NCL cruise I've booked (3 sailed, 2 currently booked) and for every one I've selected the drink package. I just assume it's an NCL IT quirk where they didn't bother to put in a rule not sending it to those who selected the perk.

As long as your amenities receipt shows the beverage package, ignore the option to buy it again.

I think you are being given the option to upgrade to the topbeverage package.  The package you chose when signing up includes any drinks up to $15 which works for most.  The premium package includes more expensive drinks like single malt scotch, veuve cliquot champagne, specialty coffees, bottled waters, etc.

I don't know if you just booked by calling CAS (based on previous play on a ship), or if you're using a land based casino certificate.  If you're using a land based certificate, I just wanted you to know that you get a drink card which allows you to get free drinks at the casino bar (no gratuities to pay on it).  It's only house liquor plus beer and wine, and you're limited to the casino bar.  I have no problems with this as opposed to paying the gratuities on the free drink package.  Just wanted to point that out to you in case it makes you think again about which perk to choose

yes, the bottled water was great.  Every time I got a drink, I'd get a bottle of water and kept my room fridge stocked with them.  You can't even get those with the regular ship drink package.  I didn't know they had gatorade, though.  I'll be sure to ask for those on my next cruise.  Hopefully, they'll have gatorade zero

Yes, we no longer accept the 'free promo' drink package as we just didn't drink enough to justify that 20% fee.   The bartenders in the casino bar are usually great.  We make sure to tip them as we haven't paid a convenience fee for the CAS drinks and they take good care of us.

We get a couple of free drinks in the casino and stock up our mini-fridge with those bottled waters too😎
