kroeni Posted June 14, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2019 We just returned from an Alaska cruise with Oceania. It was great! Service, food at restaurants,....I liked it! Does anybody know a hotel, resort, chain hotels offering the same level of service and food quality at land ? In this case we do not have to go at sea to enjoy nice pampering. With the understanding that you're looking for a comparable shoreside experience and assuming you might want properties that are often associated with cruise ports, the perfect choice is Intercontinental Hotels. This is affordable luxury, convenient and with a great loyalty program. Many of the IC Hotels have Michelin starred restaurants (e.g., SF, Athens, et al.) and are very close to embarkation ports (e.g., Miami). BTW, Oceania often uses IC hotels for their pre-cruise properties. And they are priced along the lines of JW Marriott and Conrad (Hilton) properties. Interesting side fact: At least one Oceania GM came to the line from a previous position as a GM at multiple IC hotels.
Rare Noxequifans Posted June 14, 2019 #3 Share Posted June 14, 2019 We always stay at the Intercontinental in Miami before our cruises. Excellent hotel with great dining.
Shawnino Posted June 14, 2019 #4 Share Posted June 14, 2019 I think OP is implying non-cruise vacation. Something like a high-end hotel which might be American Plan or Modified Am. Plan.

Rare pinotlover Posted June 14, 2019 #6 Share Posted June 14, 2019 Four Seasons Nexis comes quickly to mind. In Napa, there is also an incredible hotel Auberge du Soliel. Both of these blow past O in food and service.

How about Albion River Inn in Albion (just south of Mendocino, CA with great food and lodging). Book it for Thursday through Sunday for the weekend after Labor Day and add Winesong tix (both the general Saturday wine/food event at the Botanical Gardens in Fort Bragg and the Mendocino Pinot Noir event at the Little River Inn on Friday night).
