drscooby74 Posted July 4, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 4, 2019 Hi, we will be coming to GC in a couple months on a carnival cruise and there will be a a 75 yr old with use that can't walk well (pain in feet) and was looking for a beach day with chairs and umbrella and an easy way (less walking the better) to get there. Thank you
Rare crewsweeper Posted July 5, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 5, 2019 There are several resorts along 7 Mile Beach that offer day passes, have loungers, umbrellas, food, bevies. Three good examples: Westin; Marriott; Royal Palms. All have information on web sites. Best way to get there is via taxi from the tender pier. Paul Bogle Posted July 6, 2019 #3 Share Posted July 6, 2019 The perfect beach with calm water and plenty of shade is Rum Point. The downside is the 45 minute drive there and the 45 minute drive back. It can also be done by boat but that can offer its own challenges. My suggestion is to look into Rum Point and see if the travel details work for you. The location definitely will if you can get there.
cb at sea Posted July 8, 2019 #4 Share Posted July 8, 2019 None of the beaches are far from the road, and the sand is very firm...easy walking. All of the public access points have lounger/umbrella rentals. The bus can get you to anyplace along 7 Mile Beach for $2.50 pp. Takes about 15 mins or so going....coming back to port, traffic slows, so it will take longer. elaineb Posted July 30, 2019 #6 Share Posted July 30, 2019 https://royalpalmscayman.com/ A short cab ride and you can rent beach chairs & umbrella for $15. $4 entrance fee. There is also an adult only pool area that might be a good option for you.

Not what we had in mind. We left within 10 minutes and that was even too long. Rum Point is probably the best suggestion.

We will be in GC next week and we definitely want to avoid what you experienced. If you went, what did it cost you to get there and was it worth the time? Thanks!!! If OP is there on a "light" ship day, not going to experience the crowds. And being summer, yes, there'll be kids running amok any where.
