3 night Navigator question on lobster night?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys- I have just booked the Navigator Of The seas for 3 nights 8/16 and was wondering if anybody has done this recently and is there a lobster tail night on one of the 3 nights? Also, any opinions on the newly refurbished ship would be welcome..looking forward to CoCo Cay and that new Bamboo Room...any good shows in the theater? Thanks!! :classic_biggrin:

The new Navigator after refresh and AMP is a really nice ship.  They touched a lot of areas during the refresh.

Bamboo Room is pretty awesome and nearly all drinks are hand made.  Almost worth getting the drink package just for the Bamboo Room.  Playmakers is pretty nice as well.

All in all Royal hit it out of the park with the Navigator AMP.

Other than at the Bionic Bar, aren't all drinks hand made?

A Mojito at many bars on the ship will be made from a jug of Mojito mix.  At Bamboo it's made from scratch on a drink by drink basis.    The exception are the two frozen drinks available that are simply poured from the slrupee type machines in the corner.

I just did a review of our 4-night Navigator Nassau/Coco Cay Cruise.  It details entertainment and there are many pics.   Scroll down a bit; it shouldn’t be buried too deep.  It’s called   Navigator 6/24-6/28 “We Came to Dance” Trip Report.  (Sorry, I’m not sure how to link it)

DancerMama25- Great review & great pics, as well..sounds like you had a blast..what beach would you recommend 2 old people ( 60's) who don't want to hear crummy Top 40 music, but need some shade close to the pool AND a good beach, too? Thanks!!

On Coco Cay or Nassau?

on Coco Cay you actually have a couple of great options for quiet relaxation.  If I were you, I’d take the tram from the pier around to South Beach and pick out a couple of nice chairs near an umbrella.  You’ll have a out of choices, and the walk to the pool isn’t that far if you’d like to check that out as well.

If you do head to the pool, just avoid the area around the swim up bar.  There is a DJ there with lots of music and more of a party atmosphere.  But if you head toward the other side of the pool (it’s enormous) near the zero entry (more toward the interior of the island) you won’t notice that party music.

My recommendation of South Beach over Chill Island is based on the fact that it seems most people wanting to hang at a beach just go to Chill Island because it’s closer/easier to get to.  There were far fewer people on the other side of the island.

Can you actually swim at South Beach when the tide rolls out? We could see it from the balloon ride and it looked pretty shallow.

No, not really.   It’s shallow everywhere.   I think to “swim” at all you’d have to go to the snorkeling area, and I can’t comment on that knowledgeably.   Sorry.

All of the Mojitos I've seen made were muddled from fresh mint leaves. There was even a thread where someone went and got mint leaves from Boleros because the casino bar was out. Or maybe it was Schooner
