Balcony discount while changing tiers

I'll try to make this as simple as possible. If I made a reservation with an "emerald" balcony discount, but by the time I cruise I reached "diamond" and it very close to sailing, would I be able to get at least OBC for the difference in tier allowance?

We will become diamond abut a month before final payment is due for our Anthem cruise in late Jan. Could we get an additional discount off our original price?

You can have your travel agent try.

You can have your new discount applied but you booking will be re-priced at the current rate which may not make doing so cost effective

Also, the balcony discount is lower if it's less than six months in advance.  Between fare repricing and the loss of part of the discount, you just have to do the math to see if it's in your best interest to reprice with the new discount or not.

In the good old days they would adjust the discount without re-pricing.  Not anymore.😥
