I like the schedule, four sea days and no change in venue, just the times and in a GRAND suite too!😁 The Sept 22nd cruise does not go to San Juan. It goes to Labadee, Falmouth and Cozumel with 3 total sea days.

From our experience ships rarely have a need to go faster than 20 knots.

So if the Carnival ship had only one pod, were they required to use tugs when maneuvering the pier?

In US ports, yes. All the way from the sea buoy to the dock. Not sure about Canada.

I was talking the Port Agent in Halifax, while waiting for a taxi (my Mother had a medical emergency). At the same, a man left the ship, his wife had fallen and broken her collar bone. So I asked if this was the most, he laughed and said no. One time, the ship removed and replaced the gangway SIX times for medical emergencies, all that happened at the last minute. We are supposed to be going to Perfect Day, St Thomas and St Maarten. It sounds like ports will likely change since this issue won't be fixed until dry dock? Will it be St Thomas changing to San Juan or potentially other changes? We are on the Nov. 3rd sailing. I received an email last week saying we will skip St. Kitts and go to San Juan instead. dedosr Posted November 2, 2019 #143 Share Posted November 2, 2019 Is Allure still having propulsion problems. Our itinerary for Our December 8, 2019 cruise had been changed eliminating St Kitts and adding Puerto Rico. I noticed this in the cruise planner. I was never contacted by my travel agent or Rccl. When I called Rccl about it, the agent said it was because of weather. I knew immediately he didn’t know what he was talking about. LOL. Weather officials can’t even predict accurately the weather that far in advance, but the agent can? Our travel agent is closed til Monday. Any information would be appreciated . Ken at the beach Posted November 2, 2019 #144 Share Posted November 2, 2019 They have not had a drydock to fix the issue so they would still exist. They adjusted the itineraries to compensate so there should not be any further issues
bobert Posted November 2, 2019 #145 Share Posted November 2, 2019 We are on Allure's sailing tomorrow with what would have been the same itinerary however they didn't notify us of the change until right around final payment. They are not very upfront about the itinerary change at all. So yes there are still propulsion problems that will persist until the upcoming dry dock. Through our travel agent. Before final payment so upfront for us. They also passed on that there were mechanical issues. So we knew upfront before final payment. If you used a travel agent then the fault is likely with the travel agent. If you booked direct with Royal then you might be right to blame Royal. I suspect though that they sent out the same update to those who booked direct as they sent to Travel Agents. I am a firm believer in booking thru travel agents and but you have to find a good one. bobert Posted November 2, 2019 #149 Share Posted November 2, 2019 I think my wife booked this through Casino Royale, based on a discount from her previous play. But I knew all along about the propulsion issues and the likelihood of an itinerary change I was just a little curios at how long they took to officially inform us.
