Need to know how far apart the terminals are at Port Everglades/Fort Lauderdale

Distance is just part of the problem (our X&RC piers were immediately adjacent to each other). But there are NO pedestrian walkways -- well, not that I could see, anyway. The thought of dragging our suitcases down narrow roadways, full of trucks, buses, and heavy equipment was SCARY, to say the least!😱

And not just the buses/trucks, but all the tourists who don't know where they're going and are rubbernecking trying to find where they are going and fighting with their GPS navigation and looking at all the cruise ships... that's just an accident waiting to happen!

Terminal 1 and 2 are located at the northern end of Port Everglades near 17th Street. Terminal 18 which is the Oasis class Terminal is at the southwestern end of Port Everglades. The terminals used for gasoline tankers are in between. Just too far of a walk, especially in hot weather. If possible you would have to first walk south and then west around the gasoline terminals. Definitely not worth the hassle! Grab a cab, tip them well and make the short ride over to Terminal 18.

Bob, is 1 or 2 that far from 18

Probably not bad as the crow flies, but you can't walk straight there and you're walking through an industrial area.

We got off a Royal Caribbean ship and went onto a Carnival ship last spring, so we just took a taxi waiting at the RCCL terminal. It was a flat rate of $15, and took maybe 5 minutes to get us to the Carnival terminal. Well worth the rate plus tip for the driver.

. It’s just too far of a walk in the Florida heat and a cab is the way to go.

We walked from the beach by the jetties where we watched Oasis depart, across the bridge and back to our hotel on 17th, the Renaissance. NEVER AGAIN. It seemed so close..... And the walk from Princess to RCCL would be longer.  Taxi!

You have like nine or ten hours between when you can first disembark and final boarding call.  And at least a couple of hours between when you are gonna be forced off the first ship and earliest boarding of the next.....

So if one taxi driver doesn’t want to take you to the other pier don’t get into an argument with the cab driver or feel you need to bribe the driver with a disproportionate tip...just take a different cab.  You are NOT in a rush.
