shipfriend_max Posted December 17, 2019 #2052 Share Posted December 17, 2019 A little disappointed by Adventures sailings: no Norway, just the standard Baltic sailings, not the same as in 2020. 😞 Let’s see if anything for Explorer will be added, but I wouldn’t be wondered if her deployment for Europe in 2021 wasn’t true... It is assumed that Adventure will head to Cadiz, Spain for revitalization prior to returning to the Caribbean / Galveston for the winter season. No evidence yet of a re-positioning or mini-MED season, but there is a call at St. Maarten on November the 7th when it appears the ship returns to the Caribbean. We are a little disappointed too. Hoped for some Norway or Iceland trips. However, Anthem does a lot more Norway than expected (overnights in Geiranger and Stavanger for example). Maybe she is the replacement for that... On the other hand, I kind of cannot believe there will be no Arctic Cycle cruise anymore. :-p

andreasfcb Posted December 17, 2019 #2056 Share Posted December 17, 2019 Anthem visits Norway five times in 2021 from Southampton. And Jewel goes to Norway and Icelands two more times from Amsterdam. I guess that might be it for Europe. And this might be the cruise that "replaces" the arctic cycle cruises: Ultimate Norwegian Fjords Cruise 9 Nights – 11 June Southampton, England Bergen, Norwegen Geiranger, Norwegen Stavanger, Norwegen Oslo, Norwegen Kristiansand, Norwegen One of the Iceland cruises of Jewel is on the 9 June, so also very similar to the usual arctic cycle cruise date. Jax129 Posted December 17, 2019 #2062 Share Posted December 17, 2019 eek, the Odyssey 9 nighter is $1,500 more than I was expecting. Love the idea of an overnight in Naples though. We might just do the 7 night & go to Florence for 2 days post cruise. Decisions, decisions.......
royzer76 Posted December 17, 2019 #2063 Share Posted December 17, 2019 Hi guys ... so I'm seeing a TA on Odyssey leaving PE on 17 April 2021. Where is she expected to go after her season in Europe ... can I expect a TA back to PE later in 2021? Thanks.

Before Explorer's Europe itineraries for 2021 aren't loaded, I don't believe in an Eruope deployment for her, but let's see, maybe the itineraries will be uploaded these days... Otherwise, if it's all for Europe, I am a little disappointed about Northern Europe, since there's no Arctic Circle cruise, and no Norway cruises from Copenhagen, as Serenade or Jewel were doing the previous Europe seasons... cruisinderek Posted December 17, 2019 #2065 Share Posted December 17, 2019 I just noticed that Odyssey is missing the Aug 29th sailing. Looks like after the Aug. 22nd the next cruise is Sept. 7th so is there a missing 10 day cruise?

It will probably similar to the cruise on 1 October (Rome-Athens-Mykonos-Santorini-Naples-Rome). 2 hours ago, DragonOfTheSeas said: Thank you so much for this summary. We will probably keep that one unless Explorer or Indy surprises us with a hell of Norway or Iceland cruise. You can go to islands (like Capri), have a local cruise around the Amalfi coast (Amalfi, Sorrento and more), go to the old sights (Pompeii or Ercolano), to cities (Napoli, Salerno or even Rome – 1hr by train), or just go to the beaches. Similar things can be said about Athens, although I personally do not like the city (very hot in summer, ugly flat buildings, and very messy). Of course all the ancient sights are amazing. Jax129 Posted December 18, 2019 #2075 Share Posted December 18, 2019 (edited) Well, I'm pretty sure we'll be doing a 7 nighter on Odyssey since the 9 night is so darn expensive. I kind of like the longer days in port on the 7 night though. I'll feel less rushed. Didn't care as much about missing Crete but we'll be bummed to miss Ephesus. And mid-ship is cheaper that Aft or Forward on Odyssey. I wonder why since it's the opposite of all other Royal ships Edited December 18, 2019 by Jax129
