snoope Posted August 5, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2019 (edited) I know this sounds trivial, but it’s the little things; Our first few cruises was on Harmony at Port Everglades. We embarked the ship on the Royal Promenade. It was spectacular as a first time cruiser for us and then future guests. Our last cruise we entered on deck 5 but it was by the elevators. It wasn’t pretty. There were crowds of people lined up for the elevators and didn’t have that feeling like the other entrances. Why would this happen? Is there a pathway that prevents this? Saab4444 Posted August 5, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2019 The entry depends on the terminal and gangway location.
AshleyDillo Posted August 5, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 5, 2019 It's just timing..no way to really predict it. If things get backed up at boarding they may open multiple entrances. When things slow down they may redirect and close an entrance because they need to start using it for something else.
MaskedTurtle Posted August 5, 2019 #4 Share Posted August 5, 2019 I've never boarded a cruise ship in a nice, fancy area like in movies or tv. I've always boarded in a basic, service hallway kind of area.

If you board in a wheel chair, you board through the crew entrance at dock level, and not fancy.
