Princess recently sent out an email - presumably to all Captain's Circle members at least - about Take Five.  They plan to feature jazz there and have that theme.  The mailing mentioned featuring various jazz greats and styles during a cruise.

Thanks Steelers36 I was wondering about definite deck plans, cabins, pools, back of the ship, etc.

The ship sails in a little over two months!!  It is almost finished its build!!  I am not sure what you mean - other than "changes" or differences from it's predecessors.  Those changes can be seen in the deck plans.

For the latest Sky Princess info, go to Google drydock schedule - click on Princess - then on Sky. Pictures are from August 3 and 5 -- Sea trials are scheduled for Aug 24.

This a good site for all Princess drydock info.

We're Elite and we didn't get that email.

From https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/21348-sky-princess-ready-for-october-debut.html, dated today: "The 60-day countdown has started for the Sky Princess as the new Princess ship will leave the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy on October 12, 2019."

 

Important dates:

August 24 (sea trials begin)

October 12 (move from Monfalcone to Trieste)

October 16 (pre-inaugural charter from Trieste to Piraeus)

October 20 (inaugural from Piraeus to Barcelona)

We're lowly Platinums and did get the Email, sent by Princess on July 28. I notice that the Email title actually carried our Princess booking reference for our upcoming trip on the Sky, so perhaps the Email advertising the new Jazz Bar (looks great BTW) was only sent to passengers who have bookings on her?

We (well just me now) are still Platinum and do not have a booking on SKY and I received the email.  Interestingly, I received an email announcement the other day for the 2021 schedule and advising the "pre-public" sale dates for Elites.  My wife is Elite, but I have one more cruise to get there.  We have email promos turned off for her account as we don't need double of everything.

 

Who knows what goes on?  Maybe I got it since hers is turned off.

Princess targets email/snail mail mailings based on passenger itinerary history, upcoming bookings (or lack of), casino history, and resident locations.  IE if you have taken a last minute sailing to Alaska from Seattle, you will probably get more advertisements in subsequent years.
