Average cost to fly?

What is the average cost to fly from NYC to SJU in late August? Is there a website that collects data from previous years to give you an approximate estimate on what upcoming flights will be? Thanks in advance!

Previous years fares mean nothing to what you might pay in some future flight. Fares change or vary for many reasons. Supply can increase, or decrease, as can demand. Special events that affect cost can be held at different times. Taxes and fees and increase or (rarely) decrease. Extremely hard to compare past fares with future fares.

 

You will find many people on this board who purchase tons of airfares, day in and day out. They deal with the fares in front of them when they need to book. Not history. Can you go to a car dealer and say "that car was 10k less 2 years ago..."
