Rare Saint Greg Posted August 23, 2019 Author #137 Share Posted August 23, 2019 Welcome to Lee Circle..or Leeless Circle. The statue of Robert E. Lee that once stood on that pedestal was a casualty of the war on confederate monuments a couple years ago. A total of four statues were removed from around New Orleans. Rare Saint Greg Posted August 23, 2019 Author #140 Share Posted August 23, 2019 (edited) I’m going to stop at the circle bar because it has historic significance. It was the office of the first female doctor in Louisiana. Edited August 23, 2019 by Saint Greg
Rare Saint Greg Posted August 23, 2019 Author #141 Share Posted August 23, 2019 Hey I made the happy hour! $4 draft. Back home that’s what we call...regular price. I got another local beer here called the NOLA blonde.

Rare Saint Greg Posted August 23, 2019 Author #144 Share Posted August 23, 2019 This is a recent development. This was the Hotel Modern. Now it’s a Holiday Inn Express. I’m very excited about that. Hotel Modern has always had sketchy reviews. It’s changed ownership a couple of times and the ratings really haven’t improved. I’ve stayed at three holiday inn properties around here and they’ve all been great. I’ve also heard nothing but good things about the Holiday Inns in Metairie and on the West Bank. So I’m expecting this to be another good hotel.

I am looking to book it for our 1/2021 pre-Glory cruise. The rooms look pretty clean. We usually stay at the Place d'Armes in the French Qtr, but since we're flying in we may stay a couple nights pre and post cruise and utilize both hotels. Anyislandwilldo Posted August 23, 2019 #148 Share Posted August 23, 2019 Thanks for posting the links to your blogs. I enjoyed the pictures of the Houston Space Center. Amadawn1 Posted August 23, 2019 #149 Share Posted August 23, 2019 P.S. Thank you for all of the WWII museum pics! It looks a whole lot bigger than when we were there in 2015, and is absolutely stunning. We're definitely going back for a second visit in 2021.
