Silver Moon "Float Out" Ceremony Pics

For those who haven't seen the press pics from today's event, attached is a sampling.  Some key differences between the Moon and Muse (some of which many here may already know about) are as follows:

  1. Atlantide - Located in the same position as on Silver Muse, capacity will increase from 176 to 220.  Hopefully, this will enable SS to better deliver on their promise of "arrive at your leisure and dine with whomever you please".
  2. La Dame - Moving from Deck 4 to Deck 8, the venue will now offer views to the outside, as well as outdoor seating.  Capacity nearly doubles from 30 to 56 seats.
  3. Silver Note - The performance area is being repositioned to improve visibility from the tables.
  4. Kaiseki - Supposedly the design of the venue will be enhanced versus the Muse, however the language used to describe the key differences, "a wonderful expression of seasonality... based on harmony with the feeling, the atmosphere and the seasons" is beyond vague.
  5. Dolce Vita - The bar will be relocated to the center of the room, dividing the space into two areas; (1) a daytime bar/café; and (2) an evening bar, with more formal setting.  To me, the word "café" implies a place that serves not only drinks, but light meals as well.  I wonder, is this SS's intent?
  6. Connoisseur’s Corner - Relocated to Deck 9 and expanded to incorporate a new outdoor Wintergarden area to shelter guests.
  7. Pool - Walk-in steps added for easier access into the water.
  8. Pool Bar - Enlarged and altered in shape to accommodate more guests.

Excellent sharing and details, plus nice visuals.  Having just been on the Silver Muse for the first time after five earlier Silversea cruises, it seems as if the top bosses have done some smart "fine-tuning" and tweaks to the winning model of the Silver Muse.  We were very happy and impressed with the Silver Muse.  Looks as if the Silver Moon will be even better.

THANKS for posting!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

Norway Coast/Fjords/Arctic Circle cruise from Copenhagen, July 2010, to the top of Europe on the Silver Cloud. Wonderful scenic visuals with key tips. Live/blog at 237,153 views.

A very interesting and informative post.  Many thanks.

I have not mastered the method for inserting comments at various points in a post.  So some questions/thoughts prompted by your message (using your numbers).

1) This is welcome news.  Do you happen to know capacity on Spirit?

5) The notion of a cafe is also welcome.  Arts Cafe can get rather busy at certain hours (early morning for speciality coffees, afternoon for tea/cakes). It would be great if Dolce Vita could help relieve the crush.

7) This is good news for many (seniors?).  But such steps are no friends of lap swimmers since they generally reduce area for laps.

1)  Unfortunately, I don't know the capacity of Atlantide on the Spirit.

5) Agreed.
