Free Upgrade Fantastica to Yacht club will we get any Benefits included?

We just got off the Meraviglia for a 4 day, had booked a YC,  and asked the  Concierge about people getting "free upgrades" without the bidding process (extra money) for the YC cause we were curious with everything we read, and conflicting yes and no.  He said "free upgrades" do NOT get the perks of the YC.  YC perks are for those who pay for the experience and not for the free upgrades.  Maybe it depends on the Concierge.  I saw a couple come into the YC in the late afternoon and the butler and Concierge went to them immediately, and escorted them out of the YC. Don't know if they happened to just follow someone in or if they were someone that had a "free upgrade".

Not true; how on earth could someone differentiate between who had paid and who had not once in the YC.  If you bid to upgrade or the upgrade fairy graces you with an upgrade to YC you get the experience.

On the 4 day Meraviglia we were on, the Concierge said no.  Just stating what he said on this particular sailing.

At the end of the day, after 7 years here, while not complete population, I think I've only seen two people getting free upgrade to YC.
