Fragile-Beauty Posted September 5, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2019 I will be disembarking in Civitavecchia on Nov 23. Our ship arrives back into port at 5 am. I am guessing that by 6:15 the first people should be allowed off the ship. we have a 10:20 flight out of FCO airport and I am feeling good about making it as long as I have transportation waiting. ANY one recently arrive back into port in Rome?

Assuming the ship docks on time and your transportation is dockside there is absolutely no reason traffic permitting that we have never found to be bad why you shouldn’t make your flight. Transfer to the airport is approximately one hour.

papaflamingo Posted September 5, 2019 #4 Share Posted September 5, 2019 (edited) We did it in 2015. We are Diamond Plus so the Concierge escorted us off the ship. We were off at 6:45, had a pre-arranged car pick us up, and were in the car by 7:00. At the airport around 8:00 for a 10:45 flight. Security was a bit slow, so consider that, but we didn't have any problem, and we didn't "walk off," we sent our luggage down. The Concierge escorting us did help tremendously though. Otherwise it might have been a bit more stressful. Edited September 5, 2019 by papaflamingo
Rare little britain Posted September 5, 2019 #5 Share Posted September 5, 2019 Disembarked last month. Very easy process in Rome. It is an hour to FCO so as long as you’re in the car by 7 you should be there by 8. The new terminal at FCO is a high end designers shoppers paradise 🛍 so leave yourself time! Being at airport close to 9am, then there is security to consider at FCO, which can be tediously slow at times. Is there any way possible that you can make arrangements for a later flight, to be on the safe side? I personally would've booked a flight following noon; then again, I know how FCO can be, flown out of there a couple of times. The good thing for you though, flights out of FCO get delayed sometimes. Ine Posted September 5, 2019 #7 Share Posted September 5, 2019 We recently returned in Rome on Jewel of the Seas. The first group, carrying their luggage, left the ship at around 6.45 if I remember well. The drive by cab to FCO airport takes about 40/50 minutes depending traffic.
