Smoking areas on Majesty?

  • Clarea changed the title to Smoking areas on Majesty?

Starboard side of Deck 7, Deck 11, and Deck 12, and also the middle of Deck 12 where the tables are in front of the Sky/Mast Bar.

Not sure why the entire Sky Bar area is dedicated to smokers when only about 25% or less of passengers smoke, but it is.

I've seen that on other Radiance/Voyager/Freedom class ships too.

On SB decks 7, 11, and 12 is smoking allowed the length of the deck, or just in certain areas? If not the entire length do you remember what area is? Forward, mid, aft?

Thanks!

Entire deck, from what I could tell (I avoided the areas, myself).  That's something that really ticks me off -- if smokers make up 25% or less of the ship, why do they get to pollute 50% of the available outdoor deck space?

Walking past the doorway on deck 7, the smell was all over the inside because it would blow in every time the doors opened.... would be nice if they'd restrict smoking within a certain distance from the doorway, as many businesses are now doing.

Thank  you for FINALLY covering an issue that's near and dear to my cigar-smoking heart.  I'm booked on this ship Dec. 9, after spending a week on the MSC Armonia. THAT ship is very tobacco friendly.

Can't read this

We were on Armonia in September they had one enclosed smoking room and I heard there was small section in casino but I never smelt smoke or saw anyone smoking. Never smelled smoke on deck either think it was just allowed on one side. Maybe there weren’t many smokers because other then the few in smoking room never saw or smelled!!

Nice effect.  It looks cloudy from smoke.

Hoping for unfriendly smoking Cruise Ships in the future.

Smoking of any kind in areas were non smokers can get a whiff is just Disgusting.

I understand your "disgust" at a whiff of burning leaves. The problem is that the cruise lines fail to properly erect a well-ventilated perimeter in a clearly marked area that reduces the probability of your getting that whiff. Increasing separation between smokers and non-smokers is the key. Maybe vestibules would limit whiffs entering interior spaces whenever a door opens. Personally, I really don't like the aroma of cigarettes, but cigar smoke is heaven-sent.

Indoors, on the starboard side of deck 5, just aft of the centrum there is a huge 24 hour smoking lounge, where they sometimes also allow gambling.

Outside, one side of decks 7, 11, and 12.

A true and classic answer that never gets old.
