Ruby Princess Pool question

I have booked two Ruby Princess cruises in December and January. The first is to the South Pacific which should be warm, and the other is a New Year cruise from Auckland to Sydney.

 

I just realised that there are not inside pools on the Ruby and the NZ weather will be a bit chilly. Are the pools heated on the Ruby Princess?

Thank you the answer would be no... That was my experience on the Sun Princess. That is mildly irritating particularly for the NZ cruise. On Holland America, on the Noordam both the indoor and outdoor pool was heated.

When I was on the Ruby Princess  they were not heated. Sorry ☹️

Did princess used to heat there pools, I’m sure I remember them being heated in Alaska.

To my knowledge, Princess has never had heated pools (been sailing with them since 1972).  Only hot hubs, which is why those are so crossed on colder cruises.

the rear pool under the shopping cart was heated the one time i used it.  it was cold outside, but the water was very warm.  and i don't think it was just sun warmed.

we were the only people in the pool and i only went in because i stuck my toe in and it was warm.

 

this is the adult pool, so it wasn't looking like lemonade.

I would say adults are bigger suspects.

You're aware that December / January is the middle of summer in NZ...right?

Good point! I always had a hard time when I was living in Australia getting used to summer for Xmas.

I know it is summer but it is average of 21 degrees which being from Sydney, Australia I think that is cold!

I did a Sydney to Auckland via Melbourne and Hobart cruise on the Diamond February last year and the pools were fine until we got about half way across the Tasman, when they became too cold for me.

 

It was very cold around the bottom of the South Island and the pools didn't seem to warm up before we got to Auckland.

I believe they are heated but may not be as warm as many are used to when thinking of a heated pool. If they were not heated somewhat, they would hover around 70 degrees during the Alaska runs.
