Pre-registration 2021 question

Will need to phone P and O later but out most of day so thought I would try here first.

The are offering 10% discount for previous traveller but having gone all the way through a dummy booking the discount has not appeared at any point.  Same price if I log in as me or not.  There also doesn't appear to be a way to use Tesco clubcard vouchers on the pre-registration.

Save all the worry and phone a specialist cruise TA you will pay less than booking direct with P&O and also you will be able to give cabin numbers that you would be happy to book. If you pre register direct with P&O they dont allow you to pick cabin numbers on give them a grade of cabin and you could be anyhwere on the ship within that grade.

Just pre registered a cruise with specialist TA gave 10% discount as past passenger, 5% discount Peninsular Club cruise and then 3% TA discount and gave 6 cabins I would be happy to book. Excellent service which only took a few minute son the phone.

I did phone P and O re the non discount when booking online.  They claimed discount was off.   No payment using Tesco vouchers allowed for pre reg prices.  I have phoned a couple of TA and they are showing the discount.  Will be booking via them.  Just waiting for a quote off a second one to see if they will beat first price.

As I am in Greece I completely failed to pre register on Monday. Took 10 minutes through a well known TA and extra discount.  P and O site inaccessible all day. Every attempt met with red exclamation mark and "sorry there is a problem. Please try later. "

Current state of play.  I have two offers for exactly the same amount.  That amount is 5.5% less than the Pando price.

However which one to go for.  I will give my discussion.  One is an online only seller of cruises.  The other is a Scottish company who sell holidays.

Next Wednesday PandO open up the cruises for selling.  At that point between 8 - 10 the prices are frozen.  After 10 its flexible pricing time.  Therefore I need my company to purchase in those two hours.  Both claim they will.  I am less flexable on cabin.  I have around 20 which I would prefer all on the same deck.  Not keen on others in the same class which are all on much higher decks.  I did enjoy this year coming out of the cabin being being in the Atrium within seconds.

I would imagine that the cruise only seller will have far greater experience in getting thoses cruises booked.  However they will also have far more to do whereas the Scottish only will have less to book but also perhaps less staff to do it.

I understand that we can't name TA's on this site but struggling to know which way to go.   PandO direct were even less help basically just stating they would book anywhere in the class.  I did try another well known online seller who I have booked with for next year but they refused to price match and claimed one particular seller was cutting themselves so thinly they wouldn't go down that path.

First time I have used the pre-registration service offered by our TA, and was surprised at the ease of the process and of the savings to be made.

Left my wish list with the agent and within thirty minutes she had called back and after listening to the prices given (10% past passenger, 5% Peninsular discount and agent diiscount,) I ended up booking both cruises.

My TA suggested that as I was on board Aurora I would get extra OBC and only pay £50pp deposit.  So went to the desk and he was right.  We have registered our cruises, which cabins we would like on what deck and got £75 extra OBC.  That booking has gone through to my agent who will be some more discount.  Can't believe the prices.  Really good deals.

Registered last week and got confirmed booking today for a top grade (B4) suite on Iona in autumn 2021 (the one we wanted on deck12) for 3 adults for just over £100 per night each on a select booking with £230 OBC between us. All done effortlessly through P&O and not an agent. Cannot fault the deal or the service.

Interestingly, my TA has confirmed that we are booked, but I have received nothing from P&O.

Presumably P&O will send the information to your agent rather than to you. I know about my booking because I don’t use an agent to manage it for me.

Ah that makes sense.

I made my booking through my TA last Tuesday and received paperwork from them, including P&O’s, on Friday.

Have gone with a particular TA.  Now its the wait till Thurday to see it I get what I requested.  If will be our first holiday without any children for the past 20 plus years.  Looking forward to the lack of responsibility but not looking forward to wondering the state of the  house when we return!

How is that possible.  Bookings didn't start until today?

Should’ve made it clearer. It wasn’t for the just released cruises it was for December 2020. The point I was trying to make was that P&O’s paperwork came from the TA, not direct from P&O

I pre registered for 2 cruises last week had a phone call at 10am this morning from my TA confirming my first choice cabins for both cruises and at 6pm 2 e-mails confirming bookings and full booking details will be sent in the next few days.

Of you try to access CP using the P&O booking number that you have been given  you will get the following  message :

Your pre-registration cannot be accessed. On the official launch day, when bookings open for your cruise, we will send you a booking confirmation which will confirm your booking reference and cabin number. As soon as you have received this booking confirmation, access to Cruise Personaliser will be permitted.

They have obviously decided that our bookings will be considered as pre-registrations until the general bookings go on sale.  I don't remember this happening before but that may be because I didn't bother to look this soon after booking.

Yes - strangely I received a booking confirmation from P&O over the weekend for the October 2021 cruise, but not my April 2021 one.  It had the usual booking ref, but can't get in on CP which sounds about right.  No cabin information on it, just the booking ref.

My TA tells me my bookings are fine and he will get back to me tomorrow after the general ones go on sale.   Odd though.

I am assuming you are in a sufficiently high Peninsular Club tier to have booked yesterday. If not, P&O will not have allowed the pre registration to progress to a booking with allocated cabin (if select fare is chosen) until tomorrow (Wednesday). This applies to both agent and direct bookings.

How did you manage to book October 2021 at the weekend, I thought that they didn't go on sale until yesterday.  Our TA told us that we had to pre-register and she then called me at 10:05 yesterday to tell me that she had got our 1st choice cabin, we got the email confirmation from her at 9:21 last night telling us that we would receive the P&O documentation within the next few days.

We pre-registered on board Aurora, gave a list of cabins.  Received pre-registration confirmation by email and also a booking confirmation with a Cruise reference number, but only for the October 2021 cruise and not the April one.  It's bizarre.  Our TA has confirmed the bookings are OK and paperwork will follow.
